If you are getting married at a Church, are you having one? I hate them but think I might have to do one anyway

Re: Recieving line?
Im not having one bc im afraid we wont have enough time for pics afterwards. Im getting on a friday and my church is at 4:00 and CH starts at 7:00 but im worried about traffic going from Malverne to Babylon on a friday evening.

I really don't want one and don't think there will be time... so hopefully not BUT we haven't run this idea passed our parents yet, sooooooo we might end up having one. Ugh!

I'm doing one. I want to thank everyone that took the time to come see the actual ceremony

Re: Recieving line?
we are not doing one. my sister had at her wedding the priest announce at the end of the ceremony that the bride and groom will not be having a receiving line and would like to meet and thank everyone on the dancefloor at the RH. It was the best thing they could have done and i am copying her and having our priest do the same announcement.

I would love not to do one, but don't think I'll be able to get out of it.

I said yes but I hate it. I know it's something that you have to do after the ceremony but honestly, it's just time taken away from pictures LOL.

Re: Recieving line?
Absolutely NOT! I don't care about tradition I care more about my pictures. I will thank everyone at the reception. There is not 1 person who is not coming to the reception hall who isn't at the church. My pictures will last forever and I will be upset if I don't take enough

I'm not doing one.
I'm putting somewhere in the program that everyone is to meet outside immediately after the ceremony for pictures,
i'm gonna ask my DOC if she can get people motivated for a group shot, then we are being whisked away for pictures at the Chelsea mansion.
I'm not expecting anyone at the ceremony, who wont be at the wedding later that night, my wedding is small enough I will be able to greet everyone there

THIS!!! I think it's important to allow people who took the time to watch you say your vows congratulate you right then and there, to me this is the whole POINT of inviting people to your wedding! I really don't think you will lose that much picture time. Plus I wouldn't mind some photos of my guests at the ceremony.

Re: Recieving line?
we are getting married at our RH so I never even thought of having one...
until reazlied i that i don't want to have to spend half of my reception and all of my CH walking around to people and their tables to say hi and thank you and blah blah blah
so we are going to see if there is anyway we can be put somewhere in between the ceremony room and the CH room for people to pass us like a 'faux' receiving line
just an idea right now but i definitely think it will be worth it to get that over with bc I WANNA HAVE FUN!!!!
