Recognizing Past Loved Ones at the wedding

Recognizing Past Loved Ones at the wedding

For those who have lost a loved one, what are you doing, if anything, in memory/honor of them?

I am going to leave one of the seats at the parent's table open, but with a full place setting for my mom, because I know she'll be there in spirit. I am also going to carry a picture of her tied to my bouquet. We are going to say a prayer for our lost loved ones during our ceremony (even though it's not in a church) and have the names listed in our program.

I'm having a memory table with all my lost loved ones, my flower girl bouquet charm has my grandmas picture (she was supposed to be my flower girl, but she passed in November) and they are on the programs. We will also have a seat with flowers on it for my grandma.

Awesome ideas. I am going to have listing of memorial candles for our family members.

I plan to have a bouquet charm with a picture of my mom. My colors for my wedding are also related to my mom: green (color of her eyes), purple (her favorite color) and yellow (her favorite flower were yellow roses). Like at my sister's wedding, I plan to do a toast with my mom's favorite drink, an appletini.

We did a few things to honor my FH mom who passed. We did a donation in her honor to the American caner society and we had scrolls sent to us that will go on each table(instead of party favor).also we will d a memory candle, we are doing pics of the parents displayed as well as taking a picture holding pictures of our parents getting married. If we think of other ideas we will definitely so more.

Very cool. I am incorporating yellow roses for the same reason :) I love all of your ideas!

I'm not doing too much, but the wedding Mass will be offered for my parents, and they'll be mentioned during the Prayer of the Faithful. We'll also have family photos around the venue so they will be there. I am also going to incorporate into my bouquet my mother's crystal rosary that she got from her priest when my parents got married. I might also have something of my dad's sewn into my dress or something.
