I realize there's a gapI in price between the two, and it may come down to budget alone.. but please recommend me the BEST in each category.
A little background on me and my guests:
I am over 30 and I DO NOT LIKE CAN'T STAND rap and most hip hop, if they play that Soulja Boy song at my wedding *I*'m leaving. :) I like rock, My FH likes country and rock. We both like some dance music I like Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and stuff on that order.
The majority of my guests are retirement age or in their 30s. I want people dancing, and moving, but I do not want cheesy giveways or songs we won't recognize.... I'm eclectic in my taste but I pretty much stopped buying songs/albums/cds after 2000 so I don't even know what people would like.
To give you an idea I have concert tickets to 4 shows this summer:
Billy Joel Maroon 5 / Counting Crows Huey Lewis Journey / Cheap Trick
Our wedding song is You Are The One by Eliott Yamin.
So please give me suggestions on bands/DJs that would keep people dancing but not be too sweet 16ish.
I already have spoken to Body Rock and Body Heat Franklin Wayne Music and LI Paramount (Renegade) I DJ with a singer and a precussionist would be great too.

Re: Recommend a Band / Recommend a DJ
We had Code Bleu for our wedding - they played everything we requested (classic rock, classic wedding songs) and they stayed away from everything we told them not to play (rap, songs with 'questionable' lyrics, etc). They were fabulous and everyone is still talking about them

I agree. We saw Code Bleu a few weeks ago and fell in love with them. We are big Billy Joel fans. As soon as we walked in, the piano player started singing a Billy Joel song...so right there, we knew we had to book them!!! You will not be sorry. They have a lot of personality, but...they are pretty pricey. If you want a quote just FM.

We're using Central Park Orchestra - http://www.newyorkorchestras.com/ (we're also not into hip hop, rap, pop music - they're very good at classic rock)

Faze 4, Christopher Michaels is fantastic. My cousin used them last year and I'm using them too.

For a DJ a recommend High Voltage-I used them for my wedding and Vinny was great and he was a pleasure to work with.
For a band I would recommend Times Square Orchestra-They were the band at a wedding that I went to and I thought they were really good.
