recommend DJs

i know this has been asked before but who is everyone using on long island? I met with Get in tune and I love everything about them but I was hoping he would be just about 100$ less and they offer a steel drum cocktail, i thought maybe i could get everything all for the price he gave me. So despite the fact that i really want to book him I just want to shop around and see if I can get a better deal, or maybe i should just call him and ask him if he can do any better, Id feel stupid doing that, what do you guys think.

I decided to go with Body Rock. I believe they are the one of the house vendors for all the Scotto Brothers places.

My friend used them at her wedding and they were fabulous. I've heard both good and bad about them, but I did feel very comfortable with them.

I would also recommend Spin Around Sound.

Definitely call and haggle. That is what I did with every aspect of the wedding and even though I felt like a smuck half the time, I save a bundle. There some vendors who as I was walking out, had the common sense to not want to lose business, and called me back - giving me everything I asked for, for the price I was willing to pay. I mean my FH was amazed!

Anyway, I am getting married in 9 days! So excited, and just wanted to share!

I am using Danck Jock in Deer Park. They have the steel drum band also. My girlfriend used them and they were great. Very professional and weren't over kill! They were 1,200 for just the D.J then everything else was extra. I dont know if this is a 'GREAT' price but after my sisters aweful DJ we decided to go with someone we knew was awesome! Good luck.

I am using Top Hat Entertainment, they are also a Scotto in house vendor. Bob is great and my mom and mother in law to be both loved him. I felt he gave more personalized attention than Body Rock and I can tell he spends more time with you , etc.... and makes sure you have all you want. When I went to body rock, you dont even see a DJ or MC at first just this pushy sales lady and see a video and I didnt like that
plus his prices are a lot lower, body rock charges extra for cocktail hr, smoke machine everything, he was more reasonable
good luck! Hope this helps

I used Big Hits and loved them -- the MC had everyone up dancing. The website is www.1800bighits.com

I also used Dance Jock, and had the steel drum band. I was 200% satisfied. Let me know if you have any questions.

I am using Spin Around Sound.

If you really liked the DJ you went to see, I would say call him and see what he can do. Tell them what you would like to spend and see what they can do. I think most places expect this. I know it is awkward to ask but it can't hurt.

I am in no way a negotiator when it comes to prices (my fiance is a little better at it)...but planning a wedding I have learned that everything is up for negotiation. Almost all of my vendors lowered the price from the first time I went to the second time I went back or threw things in for free. Limos, flowers, dj, and esp. the hall. Some did it on their own knowing they had competition and knowing I was seriously considering them.

We are using Steven Charles Entertainment. Two of my friends used him at their weddings and we really liked them. So we booked him iwhtout looking at anyone else. He gave us a good price for everything that we wanted.
