Recommend your Co-op/ Condo

I'm looking around for coops/condos. I work in eastern nassau county. I've only looked online so far, and I am shocked at how high the monthly maintence is on many units(1200/month seems really high to me, especially if it DOES NOT include electric).

Does anyone recommend their co-op? How is the parking? What about pets?
