I did alot of research. The best rate that I could find was at the Doubletree Metropolitan on 51st and Lex for $179 (Aug 2006).

sometimes the Westin on 47th and Broadway has some 299 rates..what area were you looking for?

NYC hotels are crazy $!
i know we paid 200$ at Marriott (its the 1 near the 911 site) nice hotel but also it depends on the area u need!

Totally crashing this thread with no info to give...but I had to say LOVE THE DOUBLETREE COOKIES!! Book it!!!

I'm not sure about pricing, but if you're looking for somewhere that will make it easier for them to get up to Glen Island, maybe check out the Grand Hyatt next to Grand Central (since the MetroNorth runs out of there). Other nearby hotels are the DoubleTree, Marriott, W Hotel, Waldorf (their tower rooms aren't crazy expensive), and the Benjamin. All of those hotels are on Lex or Park and very close to Grand Central. Hope this helps
