Recommended vendors

Is there any upside to using the vendors that your RH recommends?

Be careful...they may charge you more sometimes because the owner of your RH may get a kickback, aka $$$$.

Oh I never even thought there would be a downside. How would I find out if they were quoting me more?

We used recommended vendors for photography and the band. At our hall, recommended vendors ate for free, so the upside was it was less people we had to pay to feed.

Ah. I was thinking I might want to use the DJ because they have speakers built into the room so no one has to get blasted with the music sitting by the speakers. Plus they make the speakers over the dance floor louder than over the tables so people can talk without screaming. I am going to see them at a showcase in February to see them in action.

for some things, like flowers, it helps to use a recommended vendor bc he/she may be really familiar with the space.

our florist had so many great ideas for our venue, because he had done so many weddings there.

Most halls wont charge for their recommended vendors to eat. or they will be half price....

the only thing I ever heard is that your house vendors eat for free. I found that the house vendors are sometimes more expensive than if you found someone on your own (at least in my experience).

Ditto about house vendors eating for free. The only house vendor we went with was After Hours, and they were the most affordable. (And they were AMAZING)

Not ALL RH's allow house vendors to eat free.. some just offer a discount. Giorgio's charges you 1/2 price for any vendor, house or not.

I just saw that's the same for Sand Castle too.

Aside from the discount on food, there is also supposed to be a discount for going to the recommended vendors. You'll have to shop around.
