Red blotches on cat

Red blotches on cat

My 10 yo cat has these red blotches on her face and a few spots on her leg. She has always scratched the living day lights out of her ears which was attributed to being allergic to plastic dishes and Iams.

She doesn't seem pay any mind to these blotches and I'm wondering if these are allergies again...Anybody see this in their cats?

I have two and the other one is fine...no problems.

We are guessing it's probably another allergy. You should just take her to the vet to make sure. We hope that we helped you out a little.

Re: Red blotches on cat

It's probably an allergy. My mom's cat has had this for a few years now and it acts up every now and then and he scratches at it and it turns all red and blotchy. He doesn't have hair in some spots now (mostly on his head near his ears) b/c of it. The vet gave my mom some medicine and he also said to get unscented baby wipes and wipe the areas a few times a day. HTH.

ETA: My mom also has two cats and the other one is fine... they are indoor cats only.

does your cat go outside? It could also be a rash due to almost everything out there..... from bug bites, to a plant she ate or rubbed against, to a chemical in a neighbors yard........

My cat is indoor and always has been. I have two and the other is fine. We don't have any plants (They die too easily which is why I have cats...they let you know when they need food and water) or use plastic bowls.

I wonder if it's the food or something else. I'll try the babywipes in the meantime and see if it helps at all.

THANKS.
