Re: Red Dining Rooms?
Michele31 has the lower half of her DR walls painted a deep red color. It is beautiful, but I don't know the name of the color...FM her, I'm sure she'd get back to you!
I saw this on Sensible Chic (I think thats the name) on HGTV...i know the walls aren't red...but they used some red...
the total cost of the designer room (above) was $19K!!!
but on the show they tell you how to do it for less..

Re: Red Dining Rooms?
I would love to do red in my dining room, I think it is so bold and inviting at the same time.
Here we go Jen, same taste....

Re: Red Dining Rooms?
I have a RED Dining Room. Our furniture is arriving on Friday. After we have it all set up and hang our new chandaler, I will be sure to post a pick. We just painted it red last week. We love it, very rich! Our kitchen off the dining room is Gold to complement.

Great ladies! What colors did you (or they) use?

Re: Red Dining Rooms?
I used Ralph Lauren's 'Brazilian Ruby' which is a mix of red and burgandy...so there is definitely a purple undertone to it. It matches perfectly with Pottery Barns (and I assume other) 'wine' colored drapes and pillows, etc..
They have another color I really liked but didnt quite match the burgandy undertones of my curtains. Its called Picture gallery red. In fact, their 'throughbred' collection has a lot of great rich shades that might work for you.

Re: Red Dining Rooms?
I love that raisin color too! We want to paint our new dining room red too but I think it may be too dark so we may use gold instead. We are getting a dark cherry room set.
I'd love to see others pics too!!!

Re: Red Dining Rooms?
I had heard the same thing before so I was a little worried but I just went ahead b/c the color worked. I had no problems at all. I painted the first coat on b/c i wanted a textured look but my husband freaked out and used a roller for the second coat. No problems whatsoever. Im pretty sure if we had used a rollar for the 1st coat, it would have covered fine.
