Is anyone blocking out rooms for OOT guests at the Red Roof Inn by Roosevelt Field?
Is it absolutely necessary to provide a shuttle for them to get to the reception?
Any feedback would help. Thanks again.

Re: Red Roof Inn
I was going to book rooms there, but when I pulled up there in the middle of the day on a weekday I saw a man pull his minivan into the lot and drop off a girl/woman who was dressed in VERY little clothing as he parked his van and followed her in. TRIED not to assume it was a hooker and her 'John'
I went into the desk to inquire about direction/info cards (like Holiday Inn and WIngate Inn) had given me. They only had direction cards, but only had a few sheets. They gave me one and said 'You can make copies of it, that's what we do'

What about the Hampton Inn in GC. We stayed there and it was great. You have a gorgeous lobby for guests to relax and there is a free breakfast daily. Also, I think the prices are the same.

Red Roof Inn = scary for the most part. I have stayed in a few on road trips when I toured with bands to take photos and I would never stay in one ever again.

yeah, red roof inn is not too great. We stayed in one in PA once and the toilet in my uncle's room was not working and it took them forever to come and fix it.

Re: Red Roof Inn
I just called there yesterday. Their prices aren't bad for reserving a block of rooms, but if it's going to be a sketchy place I may just skip it. I also called the Holiday Inn right on Old Country Road in Westbury and they are a little more expensive but they will give you cards for your invitations and a continental breakfast is also included. AND they will do day rates if you're needing a place to get ready before your wedding). It costs $75 from 9-5 which isn't bad at ALL!!!

Red Roof Inn is pet friendly. I didn't block rooms there but am using it as an option for people who may want to travel with their pets.

Didn't block rooms there, but my SIL did. It's a decent hotel.
It's NOT AT ALL necessary to provide a shuttle for OOT guests.

If it's a renovated one I say go for it. It opens up a price bracket and pet option for your guests.
And a shuttle isn't needed really, we had a 10 passenger van from the hotel and it made to trips back and forth and wasn't full. Depends on your guests, alot of mine carpooled.
