Does anyone know if most halls include this type of cake in their included wedding cake choices? I'm going to ask our hall, because for some reason I decided I really wanted it and Fh and I don't really like any other cakes.

Unfortunately, most RHs do NOT include this in their package choice. Or maybe just the gestapo doesn't. But I'm pretty sure more than one RH I looked at said it was extra, because I asked lol. I take my red velvet cake VERY seriously. Just not an extra $200 for red food coloring seriously.

That is what I want. I had never had it before and then had a cupcake that was red velvet cake and almost DIED! So yummy.

It is usually more because it is a softer cake and could be a little difficult to work with, I'm a food network nerd, and I saw it on there once.

If you really want Red Velvet see if you can find a recipe that you like and maybe you can give it to the RH they might work with you.

That's what we got! A lot of places carry it and even if it's not on their menu ask. It's their job to make you happy so they should be able to figure it out.

at least my hall,only includes like the basic you really need to find out what bakery they use and ask them. For instance, black forest charges 1.00 per slice, yea u do the math

I know that some reception halls do offer it but if not try cakes by jay if you are willing to pay for your cake. he makes a good red velvet

Our RH offered two options chocolate sponge or vanilla white sponge cake. With either a pudding filling out a mouse filling. However, what they allowed you to do was take the amount of money they paid for the cake and apply it to an upgraded cake. We got an ungraded cake which cost us 250. So worth it because all I hear was how amazing our cake was.

I LOVE red velvet. We haven't started discussing cake flavors yet but I will have to persuade fh into red velvet.
