rediculous...(sorry, long)

rediculous...(sorry, long)

so i have mentioned that my FH's college buddy was visiting...

we just got into a huge blow out fight last night (technically this morning at 2am). i am sooo not a fighter, but he is (loves to fight with his gf's and then make up) and he was wasted and blew up on me. both he and FH were drunk and being loud. since we live in an apartment complex, i do my best to be considerate, and since it's been so warm, all of the windows were open. i asked him to lower his voice, and he told me to go to bed, and then called me a *****. i flipped out but knew i couldn't talk to him bc he was wasted, so i went into my room and tried to go to sleep.

he then started this whole tirrade (talking to my FH while i'm in the other room) about how i hate him and am so mean to him. he starts crying.... neither FH or i have seen him like this and says how i really hurt his feelings.

(background info... he and FH have this joking hate relationship- saying things like: i hope your plane crashes and you die, who invited you anyway... no one likes you. while really they're the best of friends. more background info... every other friend of FH and nearly all of mine can't stand him. he's loud and obnoxious, but i always stood up for him, because he's generally a good guy.) we all went to college together so i have known him for about 5 years now. we had always had a good friendship, i could talk to him if FH pissed me off, we're both teachers, and he'd ask me relationship advice. we had even gone to a concert and mets game with out FH.

so when we got engaged my FH starts this joke saying that mike isn't invited to the wedding. it was funny because its so far from the truth! he's going to be in the wedding party! i went along with it, and then last night it came out that he was really upset because i said that to him and he felt like i really wasn't going to invite him. needless to say that he didn't get upset with FH about it. he's always like that.... whenever i beat him at poker, he gets pissed and says that i shouldn't have played that hand and it was a stupid move.... i just won! obviously it was a good move. however, he never gets upset with FH for ANYTHING.

so last night he was being ridiculous and i didn't want to talk to him bc he was drunk and wasn't listening to me when i said i didn't hate him. he was like, 'i don't believe you'... what am i supposed to do with that?!? so i refused to talk to him until he sobered up and he made a big fuss about it. this morning i came out and said hi and he ignored me. i asked if we could talk and he said that he didn't want to, but we ended up talking and 'patched things up', but i'm still upset, and i feel like things won't ever be the same. he's not leaving until tomorrow morning, and i feel strange around him in my own home.

FH and i talked about it last night, and he's as clueless as i am... but he feels really weird because he's between a rock and a hard place. i understand his place, and would never ask him to choose between us, but i have no urge to be around him. now that we live in SC, he comes to visit for a weekend about every two months.

so now i'm being cordial to him, but its still weird.

ugh.... thanks for listening ladies! let's hope tuesday comes before i know it!

wow... that stinks that you have to feel uncomfortable in your own place. i don't know, this guy sounds a little.... strange, for lack of a better word. i would have though that he'd be over the whole thing in the morning, considering he was just sloshed. i hope you guys work everything out.... otherwise who knows what the next visit will be like!!

That really really s*cks. Reminds of me of You, Me, and Dupree.... I think he's overstayed his welcome.. One more day though! You can do it!

i'm so sorry you have to deal with such nonsense! i hope you resolve whatever happened, thats not right that he came at you like that and just blew up over nothing! as for FH he should totally support you, you are clearly not in the wrong here and theres nothing to choose....your friend acted like an *** and you were trying to be considerate of your neighbors at 2am!

thanks! yeah, i felt like 5 days was too long also... guess it really is!

my FH did stand up for me, but didn't get too involved. it was good because it really didn't involve him, and i needed to fight my battle on my own.

i feel that there is definitely more to this (but my dad always said that if you don't want somebody to find something out, don't write it down) but i think that you ladies can read between the lines... i feel that he's jealous of me in some weird way.

thanks again for listening!

FH definitely needs to stsand up for you!!!!! I would totally want my FH to stand up for me because you didn't do anything wrong....you were trying to be considerate.. because I remmeber you posting that you had some issues with neighborsb before.. so you were being mucho considerate............ and FH's friend is acting like a 4 year old about it!

Ugh thats a pretty rough situation. I think more than anything it may have been the alcohol talking. Hope things go well for the rest of his stay. He will be gone before you know it.
