regestering for honeymoon

regestering for honeymoon

So FH said that most of the regestry items are purchased off of the regestry as xmas presents (I dont want to look, i want it to be a surprise).... so my friend said that you can regester for your honeymoon and people iwll give you money towards it.. Her friend who went to Tahiti did this, however it wasnt all inclusive. I was wondering if you can regester for a resort that is all inclusive . We arent sure of where to go yet, but we def want to do an all inclusive... if you can how do you go about regestering?

You can ask your travel agent, and you give their information in your show invites....that way people call teh travel agent and then book things for you.

i know there are crtain travel agents who allow you to do this...for example my sister went through liberty travel and she was able to register her HM an people purchased her 'credit' for her shower...but FH and I went through AAA and they do not do this, so it really epends...i think it is such a great idea if you can do it though

You can register at www.honeymoonwishes.com. You don't have to book your trip from there. You create what you are registering for. Basically, it's like a bank account that holds money for you and they cut a small cut of it : )

I think that a registry for the honeymoon is a good idea in theory, but not in practice.

I probably would NOT give money to a honeymoon registry as a gift, I would probably just give the couple cash instead. This is because I know the honeymoon registries skim a percentage of the cash off the top. I'd rather give the couple $200 to use at their discretion, instead of $180 for their honeymoon and $20 to the registry site. If I was the bride, I'd rather have all the cash instead of giving it to the site!

I think you don't need to worry about running out of gifts... I've heard NYers tend to give mostly cash. anyway and you could put it towards your honeymoon.

Just my opinion!

I'm thinking of using honeyfund.com. It's free they don't charge anything!

I believe Sandals does a honeymoon registry. Or see if your TA offers gift certificates. A friend did that instead of a registry and they were able to upgrade to first class and other things for their HM

If it's free, then I take what I said back

I think it looks greedy to register for your honeymoon. I think it's akin to a direct financial transaction. I would just give cash instead.
