It definatly was not overwhelming. We first went to C&B and everyone was AWESOME!!!! The sales girls were so nice, friendly, and if I had any questions explained everything to us. We werent sure on something with glasses and the woman was explaining the difference of the glasses. We then couldnt find a number for one item to scan and the woman said not a problem, keep looking I'll look up the item and find you. Within minutes she found us and had the item number. I had a wonderful experience there.
Fortunoffs is a different story. I was not happy. I felt more mad then anything. We registered but I wasnt happy with the sales associates. I had a question about 2 different coffee makers and the woman answered before I could even finish my question then she walked away from me.
We had another question about a product and couldnt find a sales person at all in the department. We just figured everything out ourselves and what we didnt know we figured we'll just add on later if we want.
I then came home to check our registries and make an update on something and I cant make any changes on my Fortunoff registry because we aren't in the system for me to make changes, but people can view and purchase stuff off our registry. Apparently I need my email address and password which should have been done at the store and it wasnt. I called the 800 number and they only have hours until 7 and its after 8, so I have to call them tomorrow.
We spent a lot more time in Fortunoffs then we did C&B. All in all it was a great day, we had a lot of fun and I cant wait to see items starting to disappear.

Re: Registered for some stuff....
We did see some great dining room furniture, kitchen furniture and wall units we liked. took lots of notes on the furniture
Then there was the 14K BBQ grill Brian saw and was in awe over. I said what Shmuck would spend 14K on a grill and he raised his hand proudly yelled I sure as Hell would

Re: Registered for some stuff....
That has been my only complaint with fortunoffs - Chippa they got MUCH better - when we were done we handed in our scanner - but since they LOST our paper work - they could only give us a print out and NO COUPONS or anything else - I called the next day to figure out how to get into my registry and was told well it is in the info that we gave you - when I explained that they never gave us the info the women told me - that that is simply NOT true and we were just trying to get extra coupons b/c no one would ever let me out of the store without my info so we were making it up- OMG can you believe that - needless to say I called back got someone new and reported her and they gave us the info to get in - BUT I still have not received any of the info that you get when you register - so NO coupons or ANYTHING!
But we got a bunch of stuff off of fortunoffs and we had to exchange like two things - they didn't come with gift reciepts - but it had a fortunoff sticker/handle and they asked no questions and took care of it very quickly - unlike bloomies - which was a horrible experience

HOLY MOLY!
We got our coupons and I wasnt really impressed with the stuff. 10% off wedding bands, but we're going to a different place to get them so that is no use of us, then 100 thing from Amex travel ONLY if you book from an Amex Travel agency. 10% off BP gifts if you buy 4 or more. Another one that serves us nothing as we all ready have some stuff and I know what I am getting my girls already.
I heard their exchange policy is really great and that I like if I need to exchange anything.

Re: Registered for some stuff....
the coupons were really lame, but if you call the web number during the day they do fix the stuff for you. Our password was some strange thing like the date and time or something. When i called the guy straightened everything out right then. The only good things about them are that they have everything and they take returns with no problem.

Re: Registered for some stuff....
FH & I went and registered yesterday too. We used Macy's and Target. Both were really great. Macy's was very thorough - we had already picked everything out, but the girl went over everything to make sure we were totally set to go, and afterwards they can automatically add in pieces of sets that don't have floor models to scan (like the hostess set for our flatware). Target was easy, but good luck getting any sales help there. We didn't need that much anyway since we are still living at home and have a good amount of furniture, and don't have our own kitchen.
BTW - Macy's gives some awesome coupons! And a really cute tote bag

Yay, you registered! FH and I had a much better experience at fortunoff's when we went and we had lots of questions too and the woman took her time with us, but we went to the one in NJ so maybe that makes a difference.

Re: Registered for some stuff....
I had a similar experience in fortunoff's. The saleswoman couldnt be bothered with us. I had a hard time logging on to the website to change stuff, so we went back in March and changed it, this time we had an awsome salesgirl.
By the way, in the Bridal Registry Department, there was a WITCH (replace the W with a B), when we went the first time. On our 2nd attempt I told the other girl how much of a WITCH she was and she told me oh yea that soandso, she was fired for being rude.....

Re: Registered for some stuff....
he's still talking about that grill. I told him he can have his grill IF I am ever on Survivor and win. He started looking online for an application.
I have to call Fortnoffs today and be able to access my registry on line. I have notes all over the place reminding me.
rebecca: I think that did make the difference because girls have told me they registered in NJ and had no problems at all.
