Re: Registering

I registered at BB&B and at Macys. It definetly is a long day. Make lists of what you definetly want before you go and what brand, color you want. Then add things that you would like to have. The only thing I regret doing was I went to Macy's when they were having a huge sale and everything I chose was on sale however when it's not on sale it's very expensive.

Re: Registering

Ok this going to sound unreal but my FH was so very excited about registering. I gave him the power of the scanner so he was even more thrilled.

Neither of us wanted to register at Fortunoff's because many past brides said it was almost a waste of time (few to no items purchased).

Our best experience was Bloomingdales.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond is great because their 20% off coupons never expire (they also take competitor coupons) and they have a great selection.

Enjoy registering it was a great bonding experience for FH and I! Lastly, try to not to do more than one store in one day.

We registered at Bed Bath, Fortunoff, Williams Sonoma, and Pottery barn.

We had good experiences with all!

Re: Registering

we registered at BBB, and Fortunoff. We had good experiences with both.

I would definitely recommend allotting a few hours (at least 4) to registering PER STORE!! It takes a very long time.

Plus I would definitely recommend letting FH have the responsiblity to scan the items!! They love it!!

Re: Registering

I just started at BB&B and Fortunoff
What I find much easier is start at the store and then go on-line for some things. They don't have everything on-line, but it is a little overwhelming in the store walking around with that gun thing

I disagree! Ours were SO quick. I think it depends on your personality and whether or not you know what you want. We're both pretty easy going and were were in and out of each store in under an hour I'd say!

But I definitely agree that FH LOVES to scan the items! He even put a few extras on there that I didn't notice until I got home (like a french press!)

LOL You guys crack me up about letting the FH's use the zapper thingy! Me and a BM were joking that I would give FH a 'dummy' scanner that didn't really count and I'd get the real one to scan the things I want!!!
I think we are going to hit up BB & B. Anyone register at Crate & Barrel? FH loves the kitchen gadgets there!

williams sonoma has great kitchen gagets too!
we found ourselves registering for the silliest things... (e.g., avocado pitter and slicer!) it was so much fun though!

Re: Registering

I registered at Fortunoff, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, and may register at BB&B....
My advice: Don't try to register for everything in one day...change, update, and add/take off items at a leisurely pace. Remember it's like a wish list, so put most items on your registry that are in the price range of your guests, but don't be afraid to put some items on there that are more than you would spend, b/c you might get suprised! Don't register for seasonal items, b/c they might disappear by the time your shower/wedding comes around. Finally, register for things that you like now, not that you think you'll like in 10 years from now...and have fun!!!

Re: Registering

It took us a couple of hours at each store ... we split it up over different days.

We had the BEST experience at Bloomingdales, it was the first store we went to. Our registry consultant was Michelle and she was very helpful, sat down and explained everything to us.

And they have a really cool feature on their website. Its called a Thank You Card Manager, and it keeps a list of each gift purchased and who bought it!

We also registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and at Fortunoff.
