How many places is everyone registering at? Where do you think it starts to get out of hand?

Re: registering

I at first, registered at Bed BAth & Beyond, Bloomies and FOrt's.. then one day, FH and I went to check it all out and Bloomies had NOTHING and what they did have was overpriced, and I had heard so many horror stories about BBB that I closed that one.. so then I just registered at Crate & Barrel and Fortunoff's. did that make sense? lol

Re: registering

I registered at 2 places: Fortunoff and Bed Bath & Beyond. I would think that any more than 3 could be out of hand...although I suppose it always good to give people many options...
It also depends on whether there are a lot of guests/family who are out of town - like my family is in Rochester and they do not have a Fortunoff there...

I have at Crate & Barrel, Fortunoffs and Bloomindale's. They are all pretty good. If I didnt already register I would only do 2 and get rid of Fort. or Bloomies.

Re: registering

We registered at three stores because we wanted to make it easier on everyone. We have family out of state that only have access to certain stores.

Re: registering

Fortunoffs, BBB and Macys. My main one is Fortunoffs. I added a few things to Macys because he has a lot of family in Brooklyn so they have somewhere to go (I know there are only a couple of BBB in Brooklyn and no Fortunoffs unless they hike it to Jersey.) We personally are not crazy with Macys or their selections, but I added the same China that I have with Fortunoffs and sheets, etc.

Re: registering

When I register (which is going to be in the summer), I am going to register at two places, Fortunoff and a local store for my family members who live by me. I know someone that registered at 4 different places. I think after three then it gets out of hand.

We registered at Fortunoff and Ross-Simons.

I've been unable to find any other stores that I like.

Re: registering

we registered at Fortunoff's and Target (for fun stuff). we registered in july 02 for an october 03 wedding - and a TON of our stuff has been discontinued! every towel we registered for, half of our pots.

and FYI - fortunoff's will not let you register for bedding until 6 months before your wedding since those styles change 2-3x a year.

I registered at BBB and fortunoff, I think more than two places is too much.

Re: registering

we did macy's and fortunoff's. we are thinking of adding bbb or linens-n-things b/c we can't find bedding we like at macy's and i don't watch too much stuff at fortunoff b/c we have a ton of out-of-towners. for whoever asked about when to register for bedding and towels, i heard no more than 4-5 months before b/c stuff like that gets discontinued quickly. not sure how accurate that is though.

Re: registering

I have begun to register and my wedding is in Nov of 2003. I registered at Bed Bath and Beyond for basic kitchen and home stuff (irons, vaccuum, cookie sheets, etc), Crate and Barrel for dishes, flatware and hosting party type stuff, and I will register at Fortunoffs for bedding and towels (but will wait until summer for that-so as not to register for anything that will be discontinued).

Re: registering

I registered at Fortuoff when we got engaged, just for china & stemware mostly since we had an engagement party. I'm thinking of adding to our fortunoff registry and adding one other store that has more locations for out of towners and our family out on the East end of the island, not sure where yet, I love William Sonoma, but the are expensive, maybe BBB or Macy's? I think most people register at 2 places so people have a choice, but any more then 3 I think is to much.
