i heard to wait until 6 months before your wedding to do the BEDDING...just bc bedding tends to get discontinued early...so if you do all your other stuff now, wait on the bedding!

We're getting married in aug 2010 and registered in Feb 09. We aren't having an e-party and were engaged since 07 so we aren't expecting any gifts off of it yet.
we did it b/c we thought it would be fun, and it was. Also, once your register, some places, like macy's, give you perks where anything I buy between now and the wedding on my macy's card gives me $ back in form of a gift card, as well as % off jewlery until our wedding day. Why not get the perks sooner than later??
All of the stores we registered at said they will let us know if something major gets discontinued, but so far everything is okay. Also, you can keep adding and changing it so you can register for a small amount of things that are stable in the store (like china that is usually out for years) now and as it gets closer add on the rest of the stuff that you aren't sure of, or seasonal stuff.
Either way it's up to you!

i did it a few weeks ago and my wedding is june 2010... FH just happened to have the weekend off and we went. i was worried at first too but you can always make changes to your registry online which is a plus

We registered right away. When you get engaged people want to get you gifts so why not get things you want and need.

I am getting married in May too. I am not really being pressured to register from anyone. I am probably going to register in June or July. I just want to get my STD underway thats what I'm focusing on now.

I probably wont register till next Fall. I didnt have an eparty so registering will be mainly for my shower which will be 2 -3 months before my wedding.
