Registering for e-party?

Registering for e-party?

So, our e-party is going to be April 28th and the invitations have gone out. Now, all of my relatives from out of state have been asking where we have registered. Is it rude that we didn't register yet? We didn't want to, considering our wedding is more than a year away and some things might be discontinued, or i might not even like them in a year and a half (my mind changes constantly ). Plus, we would have no place to put anything right now, as we both live with our parents and don't even have room for some of the engagement gifts we already received.

So, should we run out and register for a few things we know we will need, or just continue to wait. I don't want to be rude, and we told them not to worry about gifts.

I didn't register for it. I told people it was way too early to, and we don't have room. They were all ok with it. Some people picked out gifts for us, which are still sitting piled up in the corner of my dining room.

I had my engagement party yesterday and we did not register before. FH lives in Long Island and I live in Staten Island right now so it really is too much to store and move all the gifts when we find a house. Most people gave us money, but we also got some nice gifts and gift certificates.

My e-party was two weeks ago and we did not register yet. People asked where we were registered, but we just explained that we don't know what we like yet and we really have no where to store anything. We got some gifts, but mostly money.

We rented out a recreation center in Holtsville, we wanted a big party (over 100 people) but wanted it informal. We have a dj and got it catered and lots of alcohol. It should be fun. Where is yours>?

Thanks ladies. i feel so much better. i don't want to be rude, but there is no place for all that stuff, and money would be really good right now

this is smart. We gave in to the peer pressure and registered and now have a lovely unattractive pile of engagement presents in the middle of our living room.

We didn't register because we were hoping people would give us money that we could put toward our wedding. The plan worked, we only got a total of four gifts; the rest was money!

we actually did register before the e-party incase any did ask and wanted to give them that option...NOBODY gave us a gift for the e-party only money...two people gave us gifts after the e-party and it was guests who didn't come to the party.

we registered for the basics... things we knew we wouldn't change our minds on...

like pots and pans, the fine china we've been eyeing, our everyday dinnerware, flatware, glassware...

we didn't register for things like bedding & towels that would probably be discontinued.

we got a TON of great things off our registries for our eparty and we were thrilled! we also got some monetary gifts... it might be nice to register for a few things just to give people the option (we got all of our martini glasses, wine glasses, everyday dinnerware, and more...)

we did register.....and only for the simple fact that as soon as we got engaged people started to buy us things...my FSIL suggessted we register at least that way the people who wanted to purchase items rather than give money could get us something that we wanted....instead of 51879573875389 picture frames...

We registered for bedding and some basics. We told people where we wewere registered and said that we would re-register later on after the e-party for the other events. Although I hear that my FFIL has been telling people to give us gift cards and cash... (I am glad I didnt ask him to, however I am glad he did....)
