Registering for your Honeymoon...

Original post by ddms7870

ladies, what are your honest thoughts on this?

Some call it smart, others call it tacky. I had a very strong opinion about it a couple years ago, and now i'm unsure about it!

Good idea/bad idea?

Crashing

FH and I lived together for years before he went to grad school and now we are finally moving back to NY into a small city apartment

We do not need a bunch of stuff that w have no room for

So we did a HM registry and the younger crowd thinks it is super cool that they can give us an experience instead of a thing

See our registry Here

I agree with this. I think family might not go for it as some PP said, but the younger crowd really goes for it,

At my shower we did get one gift from a whole bunch of family members who couldn't come and it was orchestrated by someone in our parent's generation. Other than that it has been cousins and friends, but they really like it.

If you think your family won't go for it, don't have your MOH or family put it in your bridal shower incvites, just put it on your wedding website and post it on facebook. That's what we did

I plan on setting one up for the extras i want to do but will have a registry at BB&B and a few other places too for those who don't like the idea of the honeymoon fund

We are going this route for one of our registries- it just serves our needs better needing bigger household stuff and splurging on a few honeymoon extras.  I don't know why it is something to talk nasty about someone about- I mean, contributing to my new kitchen construction vs. 100.00 plate?  I think it is the same thing.  shrug.

anyway- another one to add is ours- www.uponourstar.com  - I think it is a nice balance.  HTH!
