Registering = HELL

Registering = HELL

Does anyone else hate registering as much as I do? I was told this was one of the most 'fun' parts of wedding planning, but I have yet to see the fun!

I never know what we are 'supposed' to be registering for, so I walk around with Mom and FH and say 'what else are we supposed to get?' the whole time!!!

And I think the whole process is just exhausting!!!!

Anyone with me or am I crazy?

I totally agree with you. I wasn't going to register at all, told my family that I didn't want a shower but I was outvoted!!

Registered yesterday at Fortunoff's with FH - spent almost 3 hours trying to decide, I couldn't wait to get out of there. This morning I spent another 2 hours editing my registry online!!

Where's the fun in that?

if i give FH the control of the gun, i think by the time we are done registering he will try to point it at ME to delete from the list!

I had so much fun. I have a house that I am renovation before we move in so I know what I want in every room already.

OMG, I thought I was the only one who got cranky. We registered at three stores this weekend and it was exhausting. I envisioned that it would be so much fun, but man it was hard work. I gave DF the gun too. He was upset that Fortunoff's would not let you delete from the 'gun' and he wanted to figure out how to reprogram it to let him delete things.

Re: Registering = HELL

I actually loved registering but I am a total dork and researched EVERYTHING online before I actually went to the store to register-I did however forget about somethings and after walking around the store in circles I did get a bit cranky and FH wouldn't let me use the gun thing so that made me more cranky. I still need to go back to finish registering because our place is in the process of being built (almost done!) and I didn't know what color the rooms would be or anything because most of our stuff has to be new (I live at home and FH has an apartment but most of his stuff is old and we wont bring into the new place!)

I agree that it was not nearly as much fun as I thought it would be. I found myself wishing that FH was not so involved so I could just pick everything out myself. We have finally agreed on formal china, but casual is a whole other story!! Ugh!!!

It was a mixed bag for us...partly fun and partly tiring....we don't really *need* anything but of course want to upgrade stuff. We did a lot of it online.

We couldn't agree on a casual everyday plate either....

I kept picking things and he would say nah, I almost wished he wasn't there so I could just pick what I wanted!

Hate it....
My FH and I had about 5 arguments in Macy's over everything. I hated it - I'm dreading going back for more stuff.

I agree with you. Worst part of all is that I did it by myself since FH wasn't interested in the least.

I had a really hard time because FH and I have been living together for almost 8 years already. We have all the household items we need. So, I had such a hard time picking out stuff. The consultant kept telling me that I need all new stuff because I'm getting married. Ah, no. We already picked out stuff we liked and bought as needed (several family members gave us stuff when we moved in together).

After 2 hours, I gave up. I just wanted to get out ot there.

For the most part, it was fun but I definitely had those moments of utter confusion where I felt like being sick. This happened especially when trying to find crystal/glasses to register for. I have no clue!

Thank goodness I had one of my BMs, who is married and a master chef IMO, come with me to Wms-Sonoma to tell me what to get!

Wow, are we marrying the same man? My FI pointed it at me the other day. I told him that he couldn't register for me. He quickly replied,'Register for you? I'm trying to delete you.'

ETA: I've found that he's a much better registering partner when I let him have control of the scanner. As long as he has a toy to play with, he is just fine.
