registering- macys or bed bath and beyond?

Original post by sjNY

Hi- I am planning on registering at Crate and Barrell for fun stuff and then either Macys or Bed, Bath, and Beyond for everyday dishes etc.

Anyone have any prefs of Macys of BBY?

Any problems at either place?

Thanks!

We chose BBB & Fortunoff

Me too...I went to macy's at roosevelt field mall and found that they didn't have a lot of variety. They really lack in the electronics department. I found that BBB had everything macy's had...and more.

I registered at BBB last weekend and am registering at Macy's next weekend. BBB is good for kitchen appliances, pots, etc. But, I did not like any of the everday things there (dishes, glasses, flatware) nor any of the bedding. Macy's is better for that and has a much larger selection.

I registered at both-Macy's for our fine china, flatware, stuff like that...BBB for baking pans, bathroom scales, ice bucket, hampers, etc- everyday stuff for our home. I did BBB online and Macy's in person because I wanted to be sure of our china pattern!

I will be doing the same too

Definitely BBB. We originally registered at both Macy's and BBB, and Macy's was an absolute nightmare to deal with. Their prices are terrible (a lot of their sale prices are BBB's regular prices), their customer service is AWFUL, the return policy is a joke, and the nail in the coffin for us was that nothing on our registry was ever available. We had basic things (caphalon, henckels, etc) on our registry, and everything was listed as 'will ship in 8-10 weeks' or '10-12 weeks.' Who wants to buy a gift for someone and have it arrive 2-3 months later?

I did both! BB&B does 10%off everything you have left afterwards and Macys gives you 10%back in the form of a gift card if u havea macys credit card.

I did

BBB
Fortunoff
Crate & Barrel
Bloomingdales.

I think its too much but fortonoff's is the only place that has the vacuum I want and I love the bedding at bloomingdales...I want to knock at least one off my list before my shower just not sure which yet.

I didn't register @ macy's so I can't comment on them but BBB has been great

We registered at Macys and deleted everything off of it. We are registered at BBB and Fortunoff and we are very happy with both. I would def say to go with BBB because people can use the 20% off coupons there!

I registered at all 3 that you mentioned. Crate and Barrel, Macys for my china, bedding, luggage and some pots, and BB&B for the rest of my kitchen stuff, appliances and bath stuff. I had no problems with any of them and Mayc's is great because once you register you sign up for their Star Rewards program and you accumulate a percentage of whatever people buy you off your Macy's registry. A little after the wedding date you get a gift card in the mail for that percentage amount. I ended up getting a gift card for almost $300...woo hoo, free money! And their customer service has been excellent so far. We ended up buying a king bed a little while ago and I had registered for all queen stuff. We never opened it and I just exchanged it all, the gift receipt disappeared a looooong time ago and they said it was no problem, my registry serves as my receipt and they can look up in their system what it was bought for so even if it's on sale now, I get the exchange amount that it was paid for.

hands down, BBB!!! lol

I like BBB b/c you can return for cash or credit and they really don't hastle you about it. I just love BBB :)

I originally registered at JcPenney and BBB, but I took JCP off, b/c as much as I love them, BBB just had more of a selection and I liked their policy. :)

We did BBBY as well. We didn't register at Macy's and I can't recall if we looked at it. The process at BBBY was very smooth and most of our registry came from there.

I did Macy's for all my nice fancy shmancy stuff, and then BB&B for the fun stuff.... the good thing about BB&B is that u can return any gifts for CASH!! which is a nice perk BUUUT i will say that Macy's has an AWESOME & one of the best rewards program..for every gift/dollar bought off ur registry, you get money back on a gift card...the hubby & i got almost $300 just for us to get whatever we wanted it was GREAT...if u're already doing the fun stuff at Crate & Barrel, i would do Macy's

i like both and registered for both - see where you have the most of at the shops. Macys is nice because they have a lot in stock depending on the store. BBB is great for their return policy but might not have everything in stock at the store.
