Has anyone who registered online had problems adding things if you go to the store? I wanted to split some of my items between Fortunoff and BB&B, and planned on registering at BB&B online, but I wasn't sure if I would have problems if I registered online to begin with, then went to the store to add things.
Thanks for any info!

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
I registered at BBB in person in the store, and there were some items the store had, but online didn't, and vice-versa. However, b/c I felt so rushed at the store by the nagging woman, I deleted everything, and decided to add things online when I have a clear head.

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
Most of the things I registered for at Fortunoff's I did in person. They were the larger, more expensive items (like formal china and flatware, kitchen appliances, etc). When I registered at Crate and Barrel, I did 90% of it online. Even started the registry online. Their site is great and VERY easy to use. Great pictures too.

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
I found that there was a lot less available online for Fortunoff's. I think it is better to start there in the store and change online. I didn't register for linens there, but mostly houseware stuff.
Crate and Barrel had everything online that it had in the store, so that was no problem at all.

Hm, okay, so do you think this would be okay?
I started my registry at Fortunoff in the store. I added all our china, flatware and our barware/stemware. I noticed that BB&B also carried my barware/stemware (Marquis by Waterford Vintage Collection) and I figured that I could start my registry at BB&B by doing it online, and splitting the glasses between Fortunoff and BB&B. I know I want to add other things to BB&B like pots and pans and bakeware, but I also want to go into the store and add things in person.
Sorry this is so long, this registering stuff is making my brain hurt. If I had some lady follow me around the store, I'd probably go crazy on her!

I started all my registries in person. I feel it is important to see the things before you register for them. But i touch up my registries on line

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
I started my Fortunoff's registry online and then went into the store to add things. But, don't forget that not everything that is in the store is online. With my Bloomingdale's registry, I started it in the store, and then finished it online. I had no problem doing either. I definitely recommend going to the store though at some point to either start or finish up a registry because there are some items in the store that aren't online. Have fun!

I registered at BB&B in store, and then updated the registry as needed online.

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
It's not a problem at all - actually a great idea b/c your guests will get a lot more discounts with BBB than Fortunoff.
BBB (when you subscribe) to their email list, they send you coupons and they never expire, and guests can use as many as they want!
BBB is also great b/c they have a return policy where they keep your registry information available for two years and you can return anything within those two years for the full price (without the receipts!)

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
I highly recommend that no one ever add any items without seeing them in person.
Right before my shower, I went crazy and added a BUNCH of things online.
Would you believe, when I received these items, I didn't even realize that they WERE gifts from the registry??? They looked SO different in person.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll just go to the store and deal with the lady walking around with me!

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
I dont know how it is at BBB, but at Fortunoff's no one walked around with me. I was off on my own. But then again, I started the registry online with a couple of things and was just going in to finish it at the store.

I agree with this 100%. We also had a Target registry (against my better judgement, but DH wanted it for the midwesterners.....) and I added sheets without seeing them in person, because there wasn't much on that registry to choose from and someone said something to DH about it. The color was completely not what I expected and I didn't really like them that much. I ended up keeping them, though because when they are purchased from Target online, you can't return them to the store. I didn't hate them so much that it was worth the hassle to ship them back, but I wish I never added them and got something else instead.

Re: Registering online vs. In Store?
We did just about everything online for BBB, Macy's, and Home Depot (we just bought a house!) The only things we did in the store were things I really wanted to feel for the quality (sheets, towels, etc)
