Hello all !! I am also an 09 bride new to the site !!! I recently got engaged to my lovely fiance and am enjoying planning so far !! This site is great and you all are so helpful so I know you will be able to help me with this question since I am clueless about wedding stuff ! My fiance and I are planning to have an engagement party but we def want to register so that our guests will have some gift options. However, I am unsure if you just register one time for everything that you want as if you were for your shower and just leave it open throughout the duration of engagement up until the wedding. OR do you register twice, once for your e-party and then a larger one for your shower and wedding??? I know very longwinded hahahaha
We need everything since we do not live together yet and I feel like it would just be easier to do it all in one shot but not sure of the correct way.
Your help is greatly appreciated !

Re: Registering Question !!!
Hi! Welcome and Congratulations. I actually just had my engagement party last week. Back in January or February I registered at Fortunoffs for china, crystal etc. (not everyday items) I'm planning on eventually adding to that registry about six months before I get married, as well as registering at Crate and Barrel for some other things. I also just wanted to give my guest and option instead of them just giving me things that were not my taste. It worked out great! Hope I helped!!

Re: Registering Question !!!
Welcome and Congrats!! We actually just registered for our eparty and we put things like picture frames, cake cutter, wine glasses, vases, etc... Nothing like towels or linens and stuff like that. The lady at BB&B actually told us to continually add a couple things here and there so that people can buy christmas presents and birthday presents off the registry if they want (and I already know people who are planning on doing that for us!).
But before the shower is when I am going to make the full registry.
Hope this helped.

Re: Registering Question !!!
Hey...my fiance and I also just registered for the e-party. We too wanted to give our guests the option of giving a gift. We will however, continuously update the registry throughout our engagement. Good Luck it is A LOT of fun registering.

Re: Registering Question !!!
Congratulations and welcome!! We are planning our engagement party, but are still in the trying to find a date that works phase(lots of family and friend weddings this summer). My friend registred for her e-party but did not re-register anything for her wedding. I think because she wanted cash instead of gifts. She got most of the stuff of her list for the e-party.

Re: Registering Question !!!
Hi and congratualtions! Our e-party is coming up and we haven't registered either, however I really dont plan on registering until my shower, but if i were to register for our e-party, i think i would start out with the basics and then add bit by bit through out the next two years, just a opinon - im sure however you chose to do it will work out for you!
Good Luck! and Happy Registering!

That's exactly what we did and we received registry items for Christmas and our Birthdays. Howeer, we didn't register before the e-party because we didn't even think of it. Some people bought us some nice, decorative items, but most gave us cash which was a huge help since it covered the deposit for our hall. After the party we started a registry but it was small because especially when you need everything, it's overwhelming. We add a little here and there but we will put linens and things like that on our registry because they change every season. HTH and good luck!

Re: Registering Question !!!
me and my fh decided not to register for our engagement party. we really could use money more than gifts but of course if someone wants to buy a gift they can. also we dont live together so we wouldnt even be able to use anything for 2 years.

Bed bath and beyond has a registry checklist... you don't have to register for everything on there but you can use it as a guideline... It gives you an idea...
