who registered for a lot of crystal? when FH and i went the other day and saw of the prices for glasses and what not, we couldnt bring ourselves to register and put our guests in a position to buy. what do you all think? also, what kind of crystal did you get (ex. waterford, rosenthal..) and did you take that into account when you picked the ones you wanted. FM me if you want. thanks!
ps..i know we can register and then people have the option to buy what they want...but i also dont want to be stuck with 3 glasses and have to buy the rest..you know what i mean?

Re: registering question...
I didn't register for any crystal. I don't really entertain, and I'd rather get other stuff that I'd actually use.

we thought that too...but some people say well want it one day and its easier if people want to buy us gifts for them to get it...oy!

Re: registering question...
I highly doubt I will want it If so, I'd buy it. I'd rather have people spend their hard-earned money on stuff I TRULY want. But, that's just my opinion. I did register for a few pricey pic frames and a vase, for those who want to buy gifts rather than give money. At least I know I'll use the frames and I did like the vase.

I didn't want to pick expensive crystal either. There are other things I would much rather have. So, I picked out some less expensive, but really nice crystal glassware at Bed Bath and Beyond. It is very reasonably priced and comes in sets. I wanted to have something for when I do have a house and can entertain people.

Re: registering question...
We registered for Waterford Crystal because I love my mother's and I wanted to have my very own. ...actually, she doesn't even have her complete set yet - 32 years later! But I think it looks so beautiful on the table with the formal china... Maybe I'm too prissy though. I'm really into things like that - I take after my mother. I did draw the line at registering for the flatware that was $150 a place setting! And I just have to remember to keep an eye on my grandmother who is notorius for dropping stuff!

Re: registering question...
FH and I did register for crystal. Although we don't entertain that much we were told that it is a nice thing to have. Our crystal is Mikasa so it is a little pricey but not too overboard. I can't see us buying all of it ourselves so we added it hoping that we will get most of it.

We registered for Lenox crystal glasses... not too expensive, either, and we only wanted a small set.
