I don't think there is a set # what did the registry people say? The comforter set I would say MAX 2.

Re: Registering Question - RE: Quantities

I think I registered for 12 everyday glasses, 12 place settings of flatware, one comforter, and two sets of sheets.

we got as a gift 2 boxes of 32 glasses each for every day use...we registered for about 12 each of the fancy ones...(seems like a bit much if you ask me.)
i think on the everyday flatware we got service for 12.
comforter one matching set...but also registered for a down comforter...
and sheets we registered for one to match our comforter set, two sets of plain and one flannel set.

Re: Registering Question - RE: Quantities

We found everyday flatware that we finally agreed on at Bloomies- only problem is that it was a service for 8 people. Does that seem too little?

Re: Registering Question - RE: Quantities

BB& B told me 3 sets of sheets-one for the bed, one ine hamper & one in the closet. You could also get by with 2, but i'd say go with 3, becaue a lot of tiems last minute shower gift buyers can't find anyhting mid-range to buy, and a set of shhets is a good idea. and if no one gets it for you, at least you have 2.

We registered for 1 down comforter & 1 duvet cover with all the trimings.

I think that is fine. Think about it: If you are hosting more than eight people, you might prefer to use your fancy flatware.

I agree, i didn't register for flatware, but I only registered for 8 casualt dish settings, so I'd say the same for flatware.

Re: Registering Question - RE: Quantities

We registered for 12place settings for the everyday dishes, and silverware and glasses.. Our glasses are very cheap ($1 each?) though from Fortunoff open stock so we got 12 of each size but I can always go back and repace or add more. It just seems to me that there are always tons of dirty glasses in the sink more than the dishes.

FIL's dont understand why I need so many dishes they said to eat on paper. I dont mind eating pizza on paper but if I am going to spend the time cooking a meal I am going to enjoy it on a real dish. I told them I will break out the paper for them.

Hi!!!!!!!!!! I don't know where I got this logic from - but someone told me to do half my formal china - which is 16. So I did 8 for everyday. I went with it for me, but don't really agree. Cause I don't think you should have less than 8 everyday items.

We did 8 everyday glasses (juice and soda), but a million types of everyday wine glasses. Deep reds, light reds, whites, etc... We love our wine!!!

Then 8 piece flatware. We debated hard on this since the less you have the more you have to wash them!! But we got 8. (which is actually gone from my registry last I checked!!!) Plus, FI has some from his old set in his apartment as back-up if we ever need, but we thought a sit-down party would only be 8 at the most. If you have a real buffet party we wouldn't put out all the place settings and all.

We did one comforter for for each room and 2 sheet sets for the spare room and 3 for our bedroom. Hope this helps! And I will send you a FM real soon

Re: Registering Question - RE: Quantities

I originally registered for 12 places settings of china, but then I up'd it to 16. What if you have more than 12 over for dinner, do you then have to start using everyday dishes. I also figured that if I don't get all 16, oh well!
