Registering Stress

Hi girls-

I just wrote a majorly angry e-mail to Bed Bath and Beyond. I have taken a lot of time adding things to my registry; those of you who have done it understand how overwhelming and time consuming this is. (Looking at 15 different can openers and reading all of the reviews to pick the best one.)

Anyways, I am finding that every time I go to my registry there are handfuls of items 'no longer available'. I change the item and come back and THAT item or others are 'no longer available'. This is especially frustrating with things such as bedding sets! The comforter will be no longer available but the pillows wont be.

Something has got to give!! Registries are long-lasting things that people use throughout engagements leading up to the wedding. This is a large store located everywhere- how is this possible?!

Has anyone had this issue?

Registering Stress

I hear you. I didn't have that many out of stock products on my BBB registry but I did on my target one. I was mainly more upset on the online vs. In store products. Just seems a little annoying when they confuse the two or don't update their stock. Otherwise I wasn't upset enough to complain. We received some really amazing gifts. Im sorry it's stressing you out. It shouldn't be. Registries are supposed to be exciting. have you considered a different store? My FH cousin did Macy's and she was very happy with them. Or possibly different item all together? I mean just for the sake of avoiding any further reasons to be upset. Good luck Hun.

Inventory is constantly changing - I don't think its something that BBB can control. Some of our stuff isnt available for shipping but is available in store. My wedding and shower is still a bit away so if the stock doesn't change, I'll have to add or edit it. I don't really think it's something that BBB will be able to do much about. Same with Macys - alot of things said closeout online so I knew not to pick them because they were on their way out.

It happens. I am registered on Macy's and BBB and things always become no longer available and/or they aren't available for a short period of time. I think it is good to be registered in more than one place for this exact reason.

That happened to me with my Macy's registry but really only for like one or two items and it was about a year after the engagement party that I looked at and saw the few that were no longer available. Maybe register somewhere else?

Yeah, im not as upset over it as much as I am hassled over it. I registered at Bed Bath and Pottery Barn. Bed Bath shows no longer available a lot on a few items and Pottery Barn shows even more backordered items. For example, my place settings are currently on back order?! Such a big deal item, so its annoying. I just would expect such popular big stores to be able to handle inventory. Anyways, I will have to figure something out. Maybe add a third registry or something.

I think it sometimes also has to do with time of year, like when they're phasing out one year's items to introduce the next. I know that our sheets are on clearance so I went in to ask and they said the new line is coming in so they're clearing out the old. I asked what's the difference and they said nothing, just packaging! So we bought them on clearance and if someone buys the new ones off the registry we'll exchange them for a different item.

Sorry that went on a tangent, I know it's frustrating but maybe it'll be a transition and then you'll be set!

That was a good move on your part!! I contacted Pottery Barn also because of my dishes and place settings being on back-order. They said there was just a big sale so that's why everything is back ordered. Nothing is being discontinued. I will just keep an eye on it. :)

Registering Stress

I replaced everything on my bed bath registry that was 'no longer available' including my bedding. Someone just bought 2 of the new bedding pillows.......and the rest of the bedding is 'no longer available' SMH! It says the comforter is purchased as in 1 was purchased out of 1 but it says no longer avail. This is soooooooooooo not good for someone who is OCD. Lol. Does anyone know what this means?
