Is anyone else finding this very hard? I have been doing this online, and will go to the stores too, but how in the world can I pick towels, plates, bedding when I have no idea what my decor (wall color, etc) will be? I have been getting neutrals which is boring ... but I just don't know if I will want to paint my bedroom, kitchen, etc - we are moving to NH next year. What if I like the wall colors and everything as is? What if it's red and I like that, but I registered for a boring beige bedding set?
I want to register for this stuff, because a) i need new things, all of mine are cheap; b) it's the only chance you have, really, to make a list of things you want and need and people will just go buy it; c) if I don't register, I'll get stuff I do not need or want, I'm sure. But it's really, really hard when you know you won't be living in the same place you are now, and when you have no idea what colors you'll have to work with.

Re: Registering when you don't know your decor???
I did all stainless steel and for bathroom and towels i did light blues and greens - figuring that all the walls would be white and carpets neutrals.
I went looking at apartments and thats exactly what the scenario was - white bathrooms too...
So - if you are going the apartment route - take a stab and see one in your spare time - they all have the same color scheme pretty much - except ONE and I think it was Hillcrest village in holbrook had yellowish walls and a blue greenish carpet

i know exactly what you mean!!! i registered not know where we would be living.. or if we would have a place to go... so i did everything generic.. white and black.. that way it would go with whatever i chose to do. thats the best advice i can give! good luck!
