i only registered for a few things, havent done the full registry yet

I plan on only registering for the fine china and stemware
few appliances
and pretty decorative stuff

I feel like I will never go out and buy myself the fine china so now is my chance to get it

it will be sad tho bc we wont be buying a house for awhile so i wont use it

i know what you mean but when else will you get that kind of stuf??

- New dishes
- Kitchenaid mixer (honestly, put it on if you know you are going to actually use it - I bake and cook a lot so this is going to be my baby if I get it LOL)
- Panini Press (FH and I eat panini's like twice a week and the one I have now isn't the greatest so I registered for a better one).
- Microwave (if you don't have a good one)
- Toaster Oven (if you don't have a good one)
- Blender (my mom had told me to registered for the Ninja - it's like an all in one food processor, chopper, blender thing and has different attachments. She bought it and said it's the best thing she's ever had in her kitchen - they have it at BBB).
- any random kitchen gadgets you don't have and feel you need - baster, carving set, electric can opener, bottle opener, rabbit wine opener.

Really, you just need to look at your day to day life and think of things that will be of use to you. No point in registering for something that you know you will never use and will just take up space in your closet of storage - hence why we are not registering for fine china.

We registered for everyday white bone China that would take us from day to day to a nice gathering.

Knives.

A few serving pieces

A drill

New towels

Not much else!

That's why we did a Honeymoon Registry!

Register for an immersion blender, the kitchenaid one is the best in my opinion. It comes with different attachments, so you can use the immersion blender part, or the mini food processor, or the whisk.

We registered for china. At first I couldn't justify people spending that much on that stuff, but we felt like we would never want to go out and buy it. We love to host dinner parties, soi know it will get a lot of use out of it!

If you know youre going to WANT china, now is the time to add it. There wont be a time in the future where you'll say 'Hey, we have an extra few hundred, lets buy our china.' We did an everyday white in lieu of china. You might want to consider it!

We didn't register for china, but that is mostly because we are keeping a kosher kitchen so we need 2 sets of dishes... we got more casual (and cheaper) dishes for our dairy set, and more fancier (and more expensive) dishes for our meat set, since we figured we would be more likely to have guests when we are serving meat.

Don't forget to register for a bunch of serving dishes to go with your dinnerware (whether china or regular stoneware)

We also registered for more glassware to fill out what we already had, and flatware service for 16.

We put a ton of different cooking utensils on our registry, some good knives to fill out what we already have, some pots and pans that need to be replaced anyway, and a whole bunch of odds and ends (bread basket, jelly roll pans, cookbooks, etc)

When we first went to register at BBB we were reluctant to walk around with the employee. She wanted to show us things we might need that we didn't think of. When we went back we used her help. She was very informative and everything she mentioned made perfect sense.

I would recommend walking around with a specific registry employee.

Here are my registries for an idea- since we did not need much!

http://www1.macys.com/registry/wedding/guest/?registryId=287235

http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html?ie=UTF8&type=wedding&id=2R9ZHI23XS7K3

I figure we will get cash and giftcards (especially the rebates from Macy's from the Registry and the usage of my Macy's card). So if we get 5% back from the registry and 10% back from using my card, we will have a bit of money to spend back at Macy's if we decide that we have space for a food processor, etc.

well registering was probably the most fun Ive had with anything wedding related!!!
I am obsessed! We went to BBB bc they have EVERYTHING, even the same fine china as high end stores plus people can use coupons.
We dont live together so we NEED everything and I found china I am obsessed with so I registered for all the pieces bc I will never be able to afford it myself...which sucks if no one buys it but theres always birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas as well!

I put china on our registry. We got all of our place settings for our engagement party. We then took some of the money we got from the party and bought our soup bowls for the china.
I think its a great buy especially when we want to have our families over for special holidays.

Re: Registering....What do you put on your list.................................

we registered for literaly EVERYTHING...FH hasn't lived on his own and I only have hand me down items and cheapy cheapy things from college.

we registered for all new appliances except microwave and hand mixer and immersion blender (blender, stand mixer, coffee maker, toaster, food processor)

also registered for pots and pans, Fine china, stemware and flatware, everyday dinnerware and stemware/glassware/flatware, placemats, kitchen gadgets like electric knife, spatulas, spoons, etc., serveware for entertaining

Our thought process is that even though we know we wont get evertyhing off the registery, the fact that we put it on there entitles us to the discount to complete the registry after so put anything on there you want and youcan always return items, and purchase other for a discount!
