Registries...

Because it's funny at this point and we are laughing about it...

has anyone else run into the issue of picking out items and people buying them ... then you get an email saying sorry this item is backordered... and well then finally you learn the item is discontinued and you can't get it anymore


I gave up counting how many times things like this has happened- one of our registries actually has this line where people have to call to order anything on that part of the list I learned that was b/c it's an item about to be discontinued!

We recieved a gift in the mail this week with a card that said sorry for the delay this replaces and said other gift that I guess was discountinued... which i figured when the estimated ship date no joke was 2038!


the sadest was our luggage! it was so hard to pick out and argee upon a style and color and well we got 2 out of the 4 and right when I went to go buy it (last month) it's gone~! they called around the US and it's completely gone and discontinued... so now we have 2 pieces that don't go with anything! and we are back to starting over with it....

really this has been the story of our registry life together! that and people putting things on our reg. for us! and well people buying things off it and not sending them to us and holding them ransom!

really it's just all funny now- anyone else have any of this craziness? I'd love to know it's not just me cause everything on this 14 months journey has been such a challenge and similar in chaos.

I had items like that on my Fortunoff Registry. Not too many and luckily people didn't buy them -- but when i tried to take them off I couldn't unless I went into the store.

For your luggage look around online. My bathroom set was discontinued and I was so upset -- I googled it the other day and found the whole set at another department store online and got all the pieces!

virtually everything at crate & barrel is seasonal and discontinued after a few months. luckily i was a stalker and noticed when things went 'limited quantity available' and then disappeared. we didnt want to get stuck with 4 wine glasses and not a complete set so we just went in and bought the rest of it ourselves (luckily when its limited q available it goes on sale for half price)

we do only have 6 of our napkins and 6 placemats .... i hope i can track down the rest, otherwise we can only do a small table setting with them
