Registries

Registries

Where are you guys having your registries? I registered earlier because my relatives wanted to buy us engagement gifts & told us to register. I'm registered at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Kohls.

I registered at Kohls because my relatives like going there since they get coupons and everything, but I find that registry to be super annoying. It's really hard to log into now with that new system that they 'upgraded' and if someone orders something online they automatically send it to my house. There's no option for them to send it to themselves, which I find super annoying. I don't understand why they would do that. So I have very little on there. There is this comforter set there that I really like though and Bed, Bath, & Beyond doesn't have anything similar, so I've stuck with the Kohls registry so far. But it's kind of crappy.

I haven't registered yet, but we plan to do Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, and most likely a nicer department store like Bloomingdale's. That might be changed to Macy's, though.

Good to know about Kohl's - thanks for the tip!

No problem! =) I heard the same thing about Targets Registry too. And that they were really crappy with returns, so be careful. I do like a lot of the stuff at Kohls, especially J-Los line of bath towels & bed sheets, so I will use it, but sparingly.

I didn't end up doing Macys because we aren't going to be getting any fine china.

Interesting about Target. I just love everything there!! I'm going to have to research this more ... so funny because you would think stuff like this would be a no-brainer. :)

I know. It's kind of annoying. I just wish that the registries wouldn't act up. And my mom doesn't like buying stuff of a registry because then we see what we got, but if she doesn't then other people can buy it and I might have 2 of the same thing (which is what I try to explain to her, but I'm not sure she totally gets).

Re: Registries

LOL! It does ruin the surprise, but it's probably exciting to stalk your registries and see what you're getting!!

plus, beats having to make returns like you mentioned!

Yea, it does. But around Christmas time they told me not to look at the registry, so I didn't. But my fiancé gave it away. I was like why did you do that? Now my mom is going to be so pissed. So I pretended like I didn't know, but she knew that I did.

We registered at Bed Bath & Beyond & Macys. We have about 75% of our stuff on the macys registry because after your wedding you get a gift card for a percentage of what was bought. I believe its either 5 or 10%. My cousin got almost $600 after her wedding. I really don't like macys & never shop there but it was a no brainer for me due to the rewards. Plus, I looked into their pricing and some items are actually cheaper with sales & coupons at macys then they are with the 20% at BBB.

We may also register at Sur La Table or Pottery Barn as it gets closer because I cant seem to find bedding or every day plates I like at BBB or Macys.

THIS! except we only did Macy's... It's 5% of every purchase made towards the registry that is put onto a gift card at the end

WOW!!! this might have just changed my mind about Macy's. I really just want a department store for the bedding ... I can't find anything I like ever at BBB.

With Kohls you do get 10%, which is why I'm keeping it there as well.

I looked into that, but if you read the small print on their registry guidelines, you can't exceed $200 in rewards. So they do 10% to make it look like they are doing a better rewards program than Macy's, but with Macy's you can get 6-700 dollars in rewards.

If you're not putting alot on the Khol's then it's definitely still a good idea because then you wouldn't exceed the $200 anyway, but if you plan on putting ALOT of stuff on the registry, keep in mind that you may not get all of the reward money

Ah that's such a pain! I didn't put a ton on anyway, so I probably wouldn't make the $200. What jerks.

I registered at Macy's for a few things because my family wanted to buy us stuff for our engagement and because of the rewards program they have. We're also going to register at BBB.

I've only registered on amazon.com so far. How many places do most couples usually register at?

MsA2MrsA Posted:

I've known brides to register at 2 - 3 places. I've never seen more than 3.
