Registry

So a lot of people are telling me to register for the e-party, because if someone wants to send a gift or bring one, they will get it off the registry and then i won't end up with 8 crystal vases. I don't think I really want to do this because I don't have anywhere to put the stuff plus do you think its tacky to expect gifts at an e-party? I know you usually bring a gift but you can't tell people what to bring like a bridal shower. What do you think?

I don't think that you have to register for your e-party, if people are going to give you a gift, they are most likely going to give you money

I am not going to register before my e-party. I want people to gift me cash as a gift to put towards the wedding, so i am going to wait to register after (although my e-party won't be for another year at least!)

Re: Registry

we registered for our E-party (his family kinda pressured us into it) and we wound up getting some cash, some gifts off the registry

If there are things you guys need, like pots dishes or stuff, it may be a good idea, thats what we got a lot of.

Re: Registry

I don't think theres anything wrong with not registering. I don't think we're having an e-party (although I want one SO bad!!) We aren't registered just because there would be no room for anything, since we both live at home.

I dont think you should register if you dont want to. I think its what you feel you should do, DOnt feel pressured to register especially if you dont want to. If I have an e-party I wouldnt register,

we're going to register for just a few things before the e-party, but really only because people from both sides are asking us, we'll do the big part of the registry later on

Well at first I thought I could use some stuff like someone said, pots & pans but then my mom said I can't use the stuff till after the wedding because its bad luck!

Re: Registry

My e-party is June 21st and FH and I have not registered yet and we do not plan on registering until after the e-party. I even debated writing on the invitations that gifts were not necessary. But in the end I didn't put anything. People are going to give what they want to give whether there is a registry or not. Buying presents is what a bridal shower is for.

Re: Registry

Being that I had this issue a few months ago...We had the same problem, I didnt want to register but I also didnt want 8 crystal vases! lol (or picture frames!) AND I must say that we didnt get really any gifts...one couple gave us waterford crystal toasting flutes ( I would have NEVER registered for them- but I love them) so I dont think you will have a problem...when people would ask me if and where we were registered I just said that we didnt make one...there was no problems!
