Registry...

So our wedding is more that a year away, we thought we would do our regisrty toward the end of the year, however we have family members saying we r slacking LoL!! They said people use ur registry for engagement gifts also which I did not know.. My question is have any of you ladies done your registries yet?

i did mine in time for my engagement party, but we only received a handful of gifts off the registry. we got a lot of personalized stuff and crystal stuff that we didn't register for. i think if you don't register, people will find stuff to get you, but if there are things you want/need now- it doesn't hurt to start the registry.

i'm going to tell family to buy off the registry for christmas this year too - it makes it that much easier for everyone! plus, all i ever want is kitchen stuff for christmas so i'll be a happy camper lol

I didn't do a registry for my e party.

I got 98% cash gifts.. huge deposit on my RH.

I wouldn't register at all if I had a choice.. but my mom wants to do my shower in Sept.. so she's forcing me to register.

We registered before our eparty because FH's family kept asking and they wanted to give gifts instead of money.. So we registered for a few things and plan on adding a lot more when we get closer to our date.

We registered a while ago. But I did want to registered for our engagement party. If people did bring a gift, I didn't want them to feel like they had to hand us a check (that's just me).

We did it already, we didn't have an engagement party, but we are hoping people will buy some stuff off it for engagement presents.

we didn't register for the eparty since we wanted cash gifts. We pretty much broke even on the party!

My mom really wants us to register over the summer so its done and I don't have to worry about it...Ive been looking at plates and things to get ideas of what i want etc, and I'll prob register about a year out just so its done and i can add an subtract as i please.

we registered already since we are moving into our new house at the end of the month and my sister said it was a good idea to, just in case ppl want to get us a housewarming gift (we didn't have an e-party). But so far we are the only ones who keep buying stuff off of it

Our registeries are set up but they can't be viewed by anyone yet (I will make them public when we are closer to when the shower might be or when they are finished).

If you are having an engagement party, maybe set up a small one at one store just to give people that option to buy you a gift instead of giving cash (unless you want only cash than I guess don't make one LOL).

but bear in mind, if you don't do a registry, you'll still get actual gifts from people, just gifts you didn't pick out.

We registered right after we got engaged, but that's just us. And now with our engagement party approaching, a lot of gifts are rolling in.

do you think its too early to register? Im getting married 10/7/11 and we already had our engagement party. We didnt wanna register for it. So, when do you think I should register?
