Registry

We are just starting to create a registry and are going to Bed Bath and Beyond on Saturday. Are there any other stores you think I should be making a list at?

We did Macys and BBB as well. BBB was the easiest to register with, they had someone walk with us. We were in an out in like an hour....then we went to Macys and we were set free with a scanning gun LOL. Needless to say we were there for like 4 hours. But overall it was alot of fun!

Registry

So far, I've registered at BBB. I created my registry online with them and then went into the store last week to do some scanning. It's cool to add stuff online and in store. I've also created a Honeyfund so people can choose to donate to our honeymoon if they want, instead of giving a gift.

I have a house already so I don't need a whole lot.

WE did BBB and Macy's. If you have a Macy's Credit Card, you get 5% cash back on anything purchased from your registry, no matter who purchases it.

We're doing Target because it's generally lower cost and easy and Crate & Barrel just cause I love it so much! I feel like our registries are kind of small in terms of how much is on there but I also don't want to register for things I don't want or need so it's kind of tough!!

Re: Registry

Okellies,

How was your family responded to your honeyfund? My fiancé and I have lived together for 3 years so we really have everything we need. For our engagement party we received a lot of home goods that I honestly didn't even have room for in our apartment. I like the idea of the honeyfund to help with our honeymoon and house down payment.

Do you have to use the scan gun in store for most places or can you add everything online? I'm all about reading reviews first which is why I don't like the scan gun idea (and why I'm using Amazon as my primary registry). I think I'll do one brick and morter store too.. Macy's or Bed Bath and Beyond... Which should I do?

I'm doing BBB and started online so I could look at reviews for things like appliances, kitchen tools, etc. for dishes, silverware, towels, bedding we are going in to see them in person (but I will def have my phone out to look up reviews like I do any time I shop)!

I was considering Target, especially because they have Weber grill accessories which I thought would be cute for FH but they have a terrible return policy so if someone buys off registry we'll be stuck.

For Target and Crate & Barrel you could do both (which I'm sure many are this way as well) and while you can also use the classic scan gun both have apps where I could scan items right from my iphone so if I happen to be in Target for another reason and see something for my registry I don't have to bother anyone or wait til I get home to add it I can whip out my phone and do it right then and there! And for both I can add from the website whenever too!

This, and you get 10% back on what you spend jn macys, including non registry stuff. You get that money on a gift card a few months after the wedding. Guess where I'm getting everyone's presents from!

This is for those who have a macys card. So I recommend opening a card so you get the benefits.

I didn't want to do two registries because I had went to BBB first and they had everything I wanted. But my MOH and a couple of others kept telling me I had to do two and that it's just better to do two. I just didn't get it. Cause if I was happy w my registry at BBB I felt I shouldn't feel forced to register at another place. I'd understand if BBB was inconvenient for people but it's not. So i ended up registering at Macy's too and only had like 17 things on it cause I had registered at BBB already and I didn't feel like erasing things on that registry just to register for same thing at Macy's. But anyway I feel do what you want. It's your wedding, your registry. BBB and Macy's are very convenient for people. They're everywhere and have coupons. I can understand having two if one of them like a crate and barrel or something.

I am doing Honeyfund as well, I generally have not had people complain about it. And for the people that would like to bring cash it allows the option to print out a 'Card' saying that they are donating but honestly we Live together and have a fully furnished apartment, I would feel bad putting things on a registry I KNOW we don't need.

I just put it together the other day, so I'm not sure yet. I think when it comes around time for my bridal shower, I'll know.
