is anyone doing this? fh wants to do it and i thought it was a bad idea at the time but we want to buy this house that needs work done and we're going to do it ourselves so we're gonna need a lot of tools, etc. do you think anyone will buy us stuff from it?
Well it's definitely different. Honestly, I might think it's a little weird. But, maybe do a registry on Amazon and put lots of tools on that.
i think people will go by what you guys want. I dont see anything wrong with this. I mean people register their honeymoon...so i dont see why this is different. Its what you and FH want.
Hell yeah! I think it's awesome and we're considering it too. There's a Home Depot every ten feet, so people will be able to get to it without issues.
FH wanted to do this, but when we went there, they said they don't do registries. We figured we'd do Macy's or Sears instead. I think it's a great idea though!

I was there yesterday and literally just found out about their registries, via an enormous sign over the customer service desk. I had no idea, but FH and I talked about the idea of it yesterday...we just might do it!

I'm looking forward to getting Rock Band at my shower.
I'd rather open that than a KitchenAid mixer! (Which I wanted for the longest time and now I don't want it anymore..)

It's a great way to show that this is about both of you starting a life together. My friend and her DH were just fixing up a money pit when they were engaged. They set up a myregistry.com where you could buy them beams, doors, windows, floors, etc. It was a great idea and guests really felt like they were helping them out...not to mention I bought their bedroom window...
if it's what you want. DO IT. have your parents spread the word that THAT is the stuff you could really use!
