Re: Registry @ Macys's

If you're asking us what we think... here's my opinion:

While Macy's carries a lot of beautiful things, I am not registering there. Everytime I go into Macy's looking for something on someone's registry, they NEVER have it! I don't know maybe it's bad luck, but if someone is registered at more than one place and Macy's is one of them, I automatically go to the other... JMO of course!

We'd did ours at Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan since they had more choices and are neat in the floors. Although I don't think they are organized in the layout where things are located, the Cellar and Registry on the 8th floor??? We usually spend about 2 hours walking around deciding what to add or delete from our registry and another 2 hours debating on our styles of color, style and brand name.

but it doesn't matter which one you actually register at right? b/c people have access to your registry at any macy's don't they? anyway, my mom said the same thing that everytime she goes to get something for someone it's out of stock. but imo it's a good place to register b/c there are so many of them in the areas where my guests live. hmmm.... i'm still thinking about doing mine there.

Try the Macy's in Manhasset. Never too crowded and always neat.

I registered at Macy's in Walt Whitman mall, and it's usually in good shape, and they seem to have a fairly big selection.

Macy's was one of the stores we registered at and most people went there for our gifts. A couple of things we got two of.I guess they forgot to take it off the registry.Macy's did not give us a problem with any returns at all.

Macys always used to be great - good selection, nice, stuff, and very neat. Recently, however, they were bought by another company and the service, cleanliness, and selection have definitely gone down-hill. I stopped shopping there unless I have to.

?? I think they're still owned by Federated.

I registered at Macys out of convenience for everyone. We have people coming from all over the place and its the one store everyone lives close to or near another Federated Dept store where they can purchase from that store for us. They even have one in Puerto Rico and we have guests coming from St. Thomas.

Could be new store manager... they change those. And that could affect the store... i remember when i worked in sterns and we got a new manager... wanted us to stay late and clean... YEAH RIGHT. when i was hired we didn't have to stay late and clean...
K went off on a tangent there.

FH and I registered in Macy's Manhasset, very clean and empty, but it's small and doesn't have the biggest selection. I'd make an appt and go to Roosevelt Field. That's what we are doing next.

I registered at Macys at Smithaven, but went to finish it one weekday morning at Huntington and had the department to myself

The whitman mall is nice, but they dont carry china or crystal in stock. SO things have to be ordered and shipped, extra money for shipping! I find it to be inconvenient!

The thing that annoys me about Macy's is that one day things are extremely overpriced and then the other days of the week they are having a one day sale that lasts for 6 days. Nothing is ever marked and half of the time you go to the register and they are having the 20% off items in blue sale, or some other stupid sale for teh day. Besides the fact the stores are always a mess!!! My friend said they also don't have a good return policy when she registered there and she got a lot of doubles.

I really don't want have a registry in Macy's, but I don't have a choice. That is why I also have a registy at Linen and things. Macy's is convient for my family in Queens that don't drive. I was just wondering if I am better off going to Walt Whitman or Smithhaven. We probably are not going to have a registry for china or crystal. Manhasset is too far for me.

Thanks

Re: Registry @ Macy's

when I went to buy my sis her wine glasses...the girl at walt whitman said...oh they are listed at $30/each...but are always on sale at $15...so I'll give you that price!!

but when I went to buy something at the roosevelt field store...they had a sign saying that the place setting was on sale for $99...but it rang up at original...and they gave ME a hard time...

so I guess it all depends on the person...

both places registry areas are nice enough though
