I would put your name and reg. #. My registry cards from Macys have both my name and FHs and our registry number. BBB has blank lines for name and registry #.

When I did my sil's bridal shower I just put her name on the card.

i think your name is enough, unless you have a very popular name like lisa smith, where there could actually be 3 lisa smith's in NY getting married.

They don't need the number at all. They only need your name or FH's name. They can search on the computers on their own or ask the girls at the counter. No number needed!!

I am putting my name and FH's name on the line for name AND I'm putting our registry number on the appropriate line. Sometimes people search registry numbers instead of names....other times they search names, but if they have the incorrect spelling of your name for whatever reason, then they won't be able to find it. I put our names and the registry number on labels and am putting the labels on the cards...I refuse to fill out 100 cards! lol BBB was so nice to make them and give them to us! lol

even if you have a common name, the chances that you'd all be marrying a guy with the same name is pretty slim.

when they look up your name, its attached to your fh's name ...

i look up peoples registries all the time without their cards and its fine. I even spelled a persons name wrong and it still came out, it was bc of that i knew how to correctly spell their last name.

MANY registries even if you spell it wrong by a letter or 2, you'll get a bunch of results of names that are spelled similar.
