registry gifts at wedding

registry gifts at wedding

FH's family seems to be buying us gifts from our registry...but i have to assume they are bringing them as wedding gifts since it is 3 weeks away.

I am torn...part of me wants to mark everything as fulfilled so that they cant get us registry stuff...but part of me thinks registry stuff is better than random stuff we didnt register for and prob dont want (which btw we already got one of those gifts this weekend and i have no idea where to go to return it).

i would hope that people would see we have everything we want and give checks or even gift cards....

what would you do?

This is a tough one. I would just let it be.

BUT... I would tell your BM at the RH to have a table on stand by if people start carrying in gifts to give you guys. We did not have anyone bring us gifts, but my DOC suggested I give the RH a heads up just in case. You don't want people putting them on the floor near your card box.

I'd let it be. I would rather get stuff off my registry than weird things or nothing at all.

I would let it be ... Remember if its Bed Bath and Beyond you can always return it for cash!

ITA with you on this one

i just recently did this becaue i dont want 'crappy' gifts (e.g. i don't want people to buy me wooden spoons and think that's an OK wedding gift).

i marked all the 'small' things fulfilled and only left items $50+ on the registry, and added a couple of expensive ones (e.g. a $300 stand mixer, $200 wine refrigerator, etc.) hoping that if people do buy gifts, at least they'll buy the 'good' stuff

maybe this is shallow but people have ALREADY told me they're sending gifts for the wedding and i don't want 'crap'

I got rid of all my small item. I basically just left china and other items like that.

I'd leave it because you would probably wind up with crap that you don't like.
