Registry gifts question?

Did people buy items from your registry and give you them as gifts for other holidays?

My wedding isn't until September, but yet a lot of things are disappearing off of my registry?!

My wedding is 4 days after x-mas and I have already had my shower but there are still some gifts disappearing here and there. So I'm thinking we will be getting some for x-mas

Some people might. I just received a gift off of my registry as a Christmas/engagement gift.

Some people might do it because they know it's things you have chosen and will like!

Yeah, we got a lot of gifts from our registry last Christmas, and I got some stuff for my birthday too. Sometimes I'll buy couples christmas gifts from their registries, but only gifts I might buy anyway, like bar sets, or things like that. I figure, they asked for it, might as well get it for them.

I just said to FH last night that my fdamily better not be buying me stuff of the registry for the holidays.

Maybe the gifts are being bought as engagement gifts???

I got a bunch of registry gifts for my b-day and I am sure I will get some for xmas too. FI laughs because he says I am going to get a bunch of plates for xmas and he is going to get fun stuff-

I can't answer because that is the reason I waited until after the holidays to register. (my wedding was October and I registered in March!)

I wish my family would get me stuff from my registry, but they all refuse to do so for christmas, or any other event for that matter. FH's mom and my dad do not understand the whole registry thing. They think I am rude for even having a registry!

We're getting married next September too - a lot of FH's family loves that we have the registry - its making Christmas shopping soooo easy for them! But my side is like yours Christy - I keep saying I WANT and NEED things from my registry, but they're not getting the concept.

I'm having the opposite problem; I think that I'm getting things from my registry and nothing else for Christmas. I'm happy about it though because those are the things that I really need.

I love the fact that people can buy me things off the registry for christmas!!! Actually, I think I am going set up a registry every year so my bonehead hubby can actually get me something I like. Last year (and please don't laugh) he got me a fishbowl with some gravel and ceramic fish in it and at the opening, it had a candle. He really did think it was the custest thing and couldn't wait for me to open it. Luckily, I took his credit card and bought myself a ton of stuff so I did have a bunch of stuff I liked.
