So on Saturday I went to BB&B and registered.. on Sunday I posted it put on my wedding website and this is what happened..
My friend left me a facebook message saying “I did it will it get to you in 3-4 business days?” so I immediately checked my registry and found out that a few things have been purchased!!! I am soooo excited =D I got my everyday dish set, a set of cups, & a towel~~ I’m not sure if she bought all of those but they have been purchased~~~~~~
Now my question is….
1. I thought that I receive the gifts at the shower… but if the person ships it to my house do I need to keep it wrapped and bring it to the shower myself(assuming shes invited)? Or can I open it and use it.. 2. If the gift is shipped to me (which I think she did) will I know who bought it for me?
I am sooo clueless on shower and gifts… please help.. I am the 1st out of all my friends to get married so I dont think any of my friends know what to do..
BTW, my job stinks because they banned going on the internet during the morning hours.. so now I cant post as much D:<.. I am writing this on word and I’m just sneaking on to post this.. lol I’ll be on during “afternoon” time. I hope I don’t get caught sneaking on here to post this.. lol

Re: registry gifts/shower confusion..
There should at least be a packing slip with the buyer's name. Usually buyers can include a gift message where they can write something like 'Best wishes' and their name.
If it's a big box that you don't want to carry with you to the shower and back, you might want to take a photo of all the stuff and just show the enlarged photo. I've seen that done at showers when moms buy the bedroom furniture or something really big like that.

Re: registry gifts/shower confusion..
I just had my shower over the weekend. Those who couldn't make it sent a gift to my moms house and she brought them to the shower. People who attend, should bring it themselves. If we didn't have enough time, i probably wouldn't have opened the ones from the absentees, but we did, so i did and gave them a shout out at the shower!

Leave your registry up - enjoy this time SHould you receive a gift that is shipped to you, definitely open it and then send out a thank you note to taht person. There will be a printed memo or packing slip that says who it is from. There is no need for you to transport these gifts to your shower. The person who sent them is aware that they were shipped to you.

I don't think you should be hauling presents to your own shower. I think that's strange. I also think it's strange that someone would send the shower gift directly to you if they are attending the shower. Hasn't your friend ever been to a shower before?

alot of ppl actually send the gift to you directly and it arrives before the shower, the store ships out right away. There are different reasons ppl do this, for one if they have to travel to the shower, lets say they are out of town then it might be hard for them to carry it on a plane for example so thats why. Usually the parents or MOH or somebody brings the gifts to the shower. I had somebody who couldn't attend and she sent it to MOH and MOH brought it with her to the shower.
Plus she said she is the first of all her friends to get married so maybe her friend doesnt know how it works, its possible and happens

Yea, this is what I was thinking. Usually the shower is a surprise, so how are you supposed to know when to carry your gifts anyway?
Can you leave a comment on your registry? Maybe you can tell those who are unsure that they should have the gift shipped to you only if they will not be able to attend the shower.

Re: registry gifts/shower confusion..
Ok here is what I would do...
Wait until you get it and see who it is from (there should be an invoice and card attached...if not you can call and prob find out who sent it).
Then, if it is your friend, call her to thank her but tell her you didnt open it yet. Ask her if u should open it now or if she wants to bring it to the shower.
She was prob just really excited to start buying you stuff and jumped the gun....forgetting about the actual shower part! Is she in your bridal party? If so maybe she can spread the word to the rest of your friends to bring the gift to the shower?

yeah everyone who registers they put an address where gifts will be shipped if somebody needs to do that. Maybe she got confused and thought OH she has to mail it out. If its her first shower and shes never even heard about all this before its understandable.

i am not sure if the store will take off your shipping address but call and find out, i just dont know bc didnt ask. I agree with what Jenna said above, can you change the shipping address to your moms address or moh's address so they can bring the gifts
