- 145 are in the $1-25 range (this includes items I want more than one of, like plates, wine glass sets, etc)
- 15 in the $26-50 range - 3 in the $51-100 range - 2 in the $101+ range
At macys I have 52 items.
- 35 in the 1-25 range - 9 in hte 26-50 range - 7 in the 51-100 range - 1 in the 101+ range
That's bad, right???? I want to move some things from BBB to macys I think, in case people want to shop there instead. but i picked the items i picked because i liked them the most, and also didn't want to pick extraordinarily expensive things. am i not giving people enough options in the 50-100 range??? that's what most people spend, right? i would just get myself more items in the 1-25, but maybe people won't see it that way??? help!
I am adding a vacuum to the macy's registry, probably in the 100-200 range. if that helps!!!!

Re: Registry items - cost question
I would add some 'splurges' on there. People like to chip in on one big gift. IMO People don't want to have to buy a lot of little gifts...

I like things more than items. Items sounds too sterile. ***ETA: Maybe I shouldn't have used the word Items in my post then.

I have a few big things - a $169 quilt, a stand mixer, my cookware, expensive sheets. I added a $199 (159 on sale) vacuum to macys. I am trying to see if there is anything else i need / want.
thanks!

Re: Registry items - cost question
I worried about this stuff too...
Our Crate&Barrel registry is all very low-priced items ($3-25ish) except for one $299 piece of furniture, although many of them are multiples like glasses, napkins, placemats, etc.
Our Macy's registry is pricey, some things in the $5-25 range but also our bedding which is in the $60-350 range.
BBB is a mid-ground with some expensive (vaccuum, pots/pans set) and some very inexpensive and a good mix in between.
Register for what you really want, dont add more expensive things just because they are expensive, but dont register for the cheaper versions of the things you really want just because they are cheap.
Edit: I probably would add a few more expensive items, if there's something you think you might like. I can recommend a few

Re: Registry items - cost question
I think I registered for things that cost to much...oops lol Even if you registered for things priced lower people will just buy 2 or 3 things instead of 1.
Thats what I have always done in the past

I have my bedding picked out .. i have luggage already, and added a set that is 49.99 because it's the only one that had what i needed (just a few pieces). I don't display crystal, don't really like it. I will pick some serving trays, but I have platters already. Thanks for the tips, I think I have almost everything covered though which is why this is hard!! I don't want to add things I don't need ... argh!

Please recommend!!!! I looked at candleholders - I hate glass and lenox so that's not me ... maybe a serving tray, looking now.

Re: Registry items - cost question
I would add some more expensive things on there.
I registered for $600 pots and pans , a kitchen aid mixer ($300) and an air mattress bed ($250)
I'm hoping people pitch in, but if not we can get them ourselves, not a biggie.
We had a lot of stuff already, so I'm actually concerned that our stuff is on the higher end. We mostly registered for the nicer version of stuff we already have, so some of it was a bit pricey.

I dont think its bad. It looks like you covered a variety of price ranges. I would add things that are 300+ because people may want to get a big gift together.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. You have what you have, people will figure it out. They will make it work somehow! I wouldn't change it just for the sake of diversifying....register for what you want, and don't worry any more!

I had a dyson on there, but I took it off thinking that toio many people would chip in on it, and then the stuff i really need wouldn't be bought. Does that make any sense?
I just don't have expensive taste, I guess, and it's hard for me to pick out things that cost a lot of money, you know? I mean, I picked a $169 nautica quilt and almost picked something else because I thought it was too much. Shams were $50 each and I almost did not put them on there!!!! That's the extent of my expensive taste.
I wish I could register for a camcorder!!! FH really wants one for the honeymoon, but I don't want to spend $500 on one! Macy's doesn't seem to have any good ones.

This is kinda how I am feeling now. All the mags just say to make sure you have a good range, and when I realized I didn't, I worried ... but I think you are right, people will just get more than one thing or do what they want ... thanks!

Re: Registry items - cost question
you upgraded your pots & your utensils? Now's a good time to see if you can get them if you haven't, those will fall in the price range you are looking for.
