Ok, so I'm not sure where to register and I'm looking for some advice. My mom says fortunoff because they have everything and stuff you won't find other places (so she says). But my friends who have already gotten married said if they could do it all over again they would have definitely chosen macy's. They did fortunoff and didn't really get much - a lot of people thought it was too expensive and too far away. Any thoughts????
Also, I going between target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Although I shop at target on a weekly basis I guess I was thinking that for the wedding Bed Bath and Beyond might be better.
Need help ladies!!!!!!!!

Re: Registry Question
I did A LOT of stuff at Target and at BB&B. I was happy with both places. I could compare and contrast a lot of things... BB&B has better china and silverwear.
It all depends on what you're looking for.

I did BB&B and Crate and Barrel
I think Macy's may be better if you are worried about it being too far. It will also be easier for you to add pieces and update your registry.

Re: Registry Question
Fortunoff is great but i would do somewhere else also. I chose BB&B and fortuoff. BB&B has a great selection and there are lots of stores around. I have shopped for brides at Macy's at have been dissapointed inhe past. Many items had to be ordered or were discontinued.

Re: Registry Question
I loved registering at BB&B. It was the only place we really had a pleasant experience. They are extremely accommodating, very helpful when registering, and they have a great return policy (one of the only places that gives you cash back). They also have a huge selection including a lot of china.

Ditto! I also like to think that no matter where you go they will give you like 10% towards what is not purchased at any of these stores! Have fun!

Re: Registry Question
I love Linens and Things, Crate and Barrel and Target. I think that you may get more gifts because these stores have such affordable prices.

Re: Registry Question
We did Macy's, BBB and Williams Sonoma (for baking stuff). I think Macy's runs better sales than Fortunoff, and once you register, every time you use your Macy's card you get a cash bonus of 5% of your purchase to put towards finishing your registry. You also get 10% of what people buy you from your reg. I think they also give you an extra % off once you are married to finish your registry. BBB has better prices, but you can't use their coupons on All Clad, so we went for the All Clad at Macys b/c sometimes they run sales.
Hope this helped! Good luck!

This is soooo true... I am registered at BB&B and Fortunoff. So far BB&B has been a great experience! They are very friendly and helpful, and they are the only place that allows you to get cash back. Plus they have a great selection. Fortunoff has been ok, they do have great deals on china, such as free soup & salad pieces, etc. and casual place settings which I have not seen at BB&B. It all depends on what your looking for.
I also registered at Macy's since they had a nice china sale last week, although the woman was very helpful, she screwed up my registry on the computer she added 16 sets of 8 placesettings!! When i went back to fix it, she was not there, and the other saleslady although helpful I felt was very unprofessional, I closed my account, Now this is just my experience with Macy's so it is only JMO.
I forgot to mention that this was at Macy's in Manhasset, I think there is also a bridal registry in the roosevelt field mall. Good Luck & Have fun!!!

Re: Registry Question
We registered at Fortunoff & we will add another place closer to the wedding. Our engagement party is next month so we wanted to get started somewhere. We had a little situation at Fortunoff last week we went out scanning for like 3 hours and when we got back to the registry the lady went to download the scanner and there was nothing there, when she took it to someone else that girl started telling us that we must have hit something and deleted the registry!! and then she suggested we go home and add whatever we scanned today to the registry!! FH was able to lose it when another girl interupted and suggested we go out with a personal shopper while the items were fresh in our minds instead of going home and getting frustrated so that is what we did and it only took an extra 45 minutes maybe but the personal shopper was really great and we will definately go back and ask for the personal shopper to help us next time. I think Macy's rewards program is really great but I have never gotten anything but agrivation shopping off registries at Macys, and as far as Target is concerned I love the store but have heard such horror stories when it comes to their registry. JMO

Re: Registry Question
I registered at Target and Pottery Barn. My sister told me not to register at Target..she told me their registry is a nightmare, that if you go to the store, it's very hard to find the items. I registered there anyway though. And I just did my Pottery Barn registry online today! I didn't register for very expensive stuff. The most expensive thing I put is $129
