Registry Question

Re: Registry Question

Hi,
I did Macy's & Bed, Bath & Beyond. I stayed away from Fortunoff, (1) because I didnt want to be like the rest of Long Island & (2) it is expensive. Between Mayc's & BB&B, I found everything that I wanted and at least I know, I had a decent price range for everyone that I invited to my wedding.

Re: Registry Question

I specifically registered at Macy's because of the China.

Re: Registry Question

I'm registered at Macy's, BB&B, Fortunoff and Crate and Barrel. I know, a lot of places, but I really don't have a lot of stuff on all of them.

I didn't want to register at Fortunoff since about 80% of my guests are not from the east coast, but I ended up doing half of my china and crystal there and half at BBB.

I had no problems registering at any of the places, except for having to explain why I was only registering for 6 place settings at Fortunoff. They looked at me like I was crazy because I wasn't going for the full 12. But that was just 1 person there.

I like the Macy's reward program, and I registered there because they are always having sales and coupons. I opened a Macy's card when I registered and am earning $$ back on my purchases as well as purchases off my registry. They will give us a gift card with the $$ on it after the wedding.

My only real observation so far is in the shipping. I had all of my crystal from Fortunoff purchased and sent to me, and their packaging was excellent. BB&B boxes have always arrived damaged looking, and very flimsy. My last gift, my iron, was gift-wrapped, but the wrapping paper was all ripped off on one end when it got to me. It seriously looked like someone had wrapped it, forgotten what it was, ripped open the corner and then tossed it in the box and shipped it to me. So I'm a little worried about other items that might get purchased off that registry. Shipping is a big deal to me, since almost all of my gifts will be shipped.

But, look around, and even register at them all, you can always change your mind and delete them! Once we started it was a lot easier to figure out what we were going to get and from where.

HTH, sorry it was so long!

Re: Registry Question

BB&B seems to have the best customer service and return policy from what I've heard, so I'm doing most of my registry there, at least in terms of housewares and cookware. I'm still not sure where I'm doing dishes, bedding, and if I'll add furniture or decorative stuff (and if so, from where). I'm considering Pier 1, Crate and Barrel, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and Fortunoffs. I think it will just come down to who has stuff I like... although I here that Macy's and Bloomingdale's don't have the best return policy - store credit only, it seems.

I'm just concerned that with places like Crate and Barrel or Fortunoffs where there aren't as many locations I won't end up getting much off those registries because they are harder to access in-store.

Re: Registry Question

We decided BBB and Macys. I love BBB you get money back.
