registry question.....

My friend registered at crate and barrel and wants a liquor cabinet, a dining table, some fancy chair, 2 bookshelves, and a coffee table...

I can see a lamp, or a nightstand, but a dining room table? and might I add, crate and barrel is NOT cheap either.

I just think registering for furniture (especially large peices of furniture) is a little odd. I always thought you buy it with the money you get from your wedding.

Seriously though, is it normal??? I thought it was plates, glasses, stuff like that.

If thats the case, Im registering at Raymour Flannigan because I need a new couch!

You can absolutely do that...people can all chip in...we are thinking of registering for some bedding that is prety expensive...furniture can definitely be on it!

I gotta say thats news to me. I've been to a few bridal showers and i think the biggest present I've seen so far was an air conditioner.

But if thats the case, someones gettin me a new couch!!!!

Go for it! Maybe tell your family (or other 'important' people who are cose to you that this what you are doing?)

HAHA FH wants to register for a 72 inch Big screen i was like yeah ummmm your nuts-o!

my cousin registered for her dining room table and chairs the fam all put in towards it and as a surprise my aunt got her the buffet also

SHe was so happy and the best was we each gave her a card with a pic of a part of the table or chairs and she had to put it together like a puzzle

IT WAS AWESOME!

I think what Im going to do is ask my mother and step father for a couch for my wedding gift.

Before I do any of that, I gotta stop being so lazy and book a RH!

we didnt really register for furniture because we have what we need for our current apt, even if its nothing too fancy, and we will buy new furniture ourselves down the road.

however, we did register for one piece at ... crate & barrel!

we got almost all of our china and a lot of glassware and could really use a place to store some of it. when we get a house we'll get a bigger piece of furniture but this would be nice to have in the meantime:

haha i know those dyson's r pretty cool! lol

we're not putting any furniture or anything like that but i was told by family members to put big $$$ items
if i had a place to put it i would get a BBQ grill and a wine celler

I would register for the big ticket items to get the discount after the wedding.
