I have no idea about the cost of a duvet cover sorry....but I think towels cost about $10-15 each on the average....everyday dishes it depends.... FH and I are going to go to Target and get a Corelle set which costs about $60-70 for a set of four place settings in a box. When I registered online they had a guideline for how many gifts of each price range to register for based on the number of guests invited to your wedding...I would just register for a lot of things that cost between $20-25 each. At BBB you can also register for gift cards :)
And don't worry if you have items that are costly...your friends might want to chip in for one larger gift (That's what my friends did!).

Don't worry about it. Just because it's on the list doesnt mean it will get bought. I would pick what you want. a few people might chip in. PICK WHAT YOU WANT!!

Pick what you want. I was the same way at first but I wanted some nice things that were good quality and would last. So when I thought of it that way, I felt better about the higher priced items.

I had middle of the line towels on my registry and people chose to buy me better!!! I had the same mentallity that all my stuff was too much money, but I got tons of the 'big' stuff and was totally shocked.

BBB usually has 20 percent off coupons and you can use mult for one person. I wouldn't worry about it, people can chip in to get it also. I think you should register for what you want and not get the most expensive everything but things you could use. We had a few very expensive items and then under 60 for most of the stuff. we are older, so we figured we only need 4 towel/set, since we already have towels. we went for the one of the cheaper sheet sets. Just be reasonable.
