Registry Question?

Registry Question?

Wouldn’t life be easier if I could just shoot out a quick e-mail with a list of our registries?
Because I think it’s rude to outright ask for gifts from my guests, that’s why....

How can I spread information about our registry?

Re: Registry Question?

why dont you create a wedding website (from this site, or weddingchannel.com for free etc...) and theres a section where you can state your registry. Then you can email everyone your website 'come check out our wedding website' I think its a more discrete way of saying it...

Our parents spread the word. Also, a lot of people asked me directly. We have the info on our web page as well.

do you have a wedding website? create a registries section there. Word will get out as you send out your STDs and your invitations b/c people will ask.

Re: Registry Question?

well the registry is normally for your shower, not your wedding. And someone else most likely (not all the time but most of the time) will be throwing your shower for you, so it's not like you directly asking for shower gifts. Also, it's pretty standard, and expected to receive a registry list in the shower invites, this way people know what to buy you. No one will be offended.

Re: Registry Question?

registry information is spread word of mouth and by those throwing a shower...you can do the page on wedding channel but I don't think shooting an email that has to do with where you are registered is a good idea...

let it happen naturally...people know what the deal is...

Umm, yeah, it is rude to outright ask for gifts. That's why you don't send that email you're contemplating, and you don't spread the info unless directly asked, your family and BP does. Ditto pp's.

our 'wed-site' helped a lot with that too.
