registry question

registry question

how many items do you have on your registry and how many people are you inviting?? i have no idea how this is supposed to work....i'm inviting about 150 people...so does anyone know how many items i should have on the registry?? i just can't imagine any of the invitees actually using my registry!! i wouldn't doubt it if 90% of them hadn't been at a wedding since the invention of online registries (fh and i are the first among our generation...family and friends...to get married).

We went nuts on it. I don't think it matters on how many people we have..its more less we need EVERYTHING.

I think the store you choose will lead you in the right direction.

Re: registry question

register for what you need!!!! don't register for things, just to have things on the registry. if you don't need much then request gift cards, you can use them at later times for something you forgot to add on. if you rather receive gifts vs gift cards then add an extra sheet set.

Re: registry question

I was told 250 items for 200 guests. I'm actually having more than 200 guests but registered for probably about 175 items. The way I see it, that standard applies in areas other than NY where most people give $$ - and I don't see myself getting more than (or close to) 175 items at my shower!

Re: registry question

We didn't add items in relation to our guest count, especially since we will probably only be getting these gifts for our shower. We have a lot of stuff on our registry because we don't live together and need everything.

We just added what we wanted...not an amount based on our guest list.

We didn't really follow a rule. We've always been rebels .

Re: registry question

I don't know how many items I ordered, we just went around and got a lot of stuff!

remember: some people will only get one item, while others will get you a couple so I wouldn't necessarily go by the # of people you are inviting.

Re: registry question

If you register at Bloomingdale's they give you a grading report which tells you how many items you should register at each price amount, and how many you already have.

Re: registry question

We registered at a few places, but it doesn't equal up to a lot of things. We're not doing place settings of china or silverware, just full sets of each instead, so that makes the list a lot smaller than what others have. I did register for probably every single gadget known to man. I love gadgets. I know alot of the older people will just give cash or gift cards at the shower so I'm not sweating it. I did put a few 'pricey' things on the list, so if they are bought, it'll mostly likely be from a group.

We do have our own house, and we have a few good things, but I never bought much of the good stuff, I saved it to register for.
