Registry question: Bedding can someone tell me the difference?
Im clueless as to what exaclty I need for bedding. What is the difference between a quilt and a duvet cover? Do I need to register for both or can I just pick the one I like?

a duvet cover goes over a down comforter. Most companies sell a duvet cover or a comforter. A quilt is almost like a throw. you would register for either a duvet cover or a comforter and then you could get a quilt on the side.

A duvet cover is a cover for another comforter, usually a down comforter. You would put the down comforter inside the duvet cover.A quilt is a stand-alone, lighweight blanket that you would put on the bed, possibly like a bedspread.
If you have a down comforter, you need a duvet cover. Otherwise, it's just nice to have if you want a new look without buying a whole separate comforter.
