FH and I werent going to register at one of our locations because I was worried that we wouldnt be treated the 'right' way because neither of us dresses like, or acts as if, we come from money. We went to register a few months ago and had a great experience. The past few times to update have been great as well.
Well today... was awful. One of the sales people in the jewelry department had me in tears. The way she talked to and treated me and my FH about the price of a necklace. She told us that in order to show it to us, she'd have to call security over. W T F?? I know for a FACT that is not their policy. There was a lady standing next to me wearing a necklace with a $200,000 price tag on it, and you need to get security for me?! She then made a comment about how they were real diamonds, and how she bets i was hoping it was Swarvorski and that the clearance section was around the corner.
I was so embarrassed and ticked off... Then FH and I were blatantly ignored in the ring department when we were shopping for his wedding band. Another customer was approached before us even though we'd been waiting for 5 minutes... when he said that we were there first, the sales lady looked at us said 'okay...' giggled and walked off. it happened again a few minutes later.
I complained to the bridal registry attendant, she got us the Floor managager on duty as well as the jewelry department head. They were super ticked about the situation and said that they were going to review the security tapes to see who treated us that way. They gave us a gift card to make up for our experience.
I told them if it happens again, I'm deleting the entire registry and going to one of their competitors.
I feel like such white trash right now...

Don't feel bad. People are such a$$holes. I hope they get fired. No one deserves to get treated that way and management did what it should have done.

Im so sorry to read this. No one should be treated this way. Theres nothing wrong with you but these people are a different story. Theyre disgusting and I hope they lose their jobs over this. Ive been treated this way at times and I know it doesnt feel good. Dont let them get you down, they are pieces of s hit

I'm sorry. We get treated that way sometimes because we look young and people don't take us seriously. I'm glad you stood up for yourself and complained but I'm sorry that you were treated so poorly. Don't let them make you feel like white trash, feel sorry for them that they are the crappy individuals that make people feel this way.

Kerri that is awful....I am sooo sorry you were treated this way. I think I know what place you are talking about as well..cause when I went in there to buy FBIL and his wife a bridal shower gift the woman thought I was there to register and gave me an attitude....
So when I went back after FH and I were engaged. I wasn't with FH I was with my mom and we just stopped in cause we were in the area and I went to look at rings and show my mom what type of wedding band I would want. One of the woman at the counter asked my Mom if I was allowed to be looking at these rings- *** am I deaf or mute you can ask me @$$hole....ughh and then she gave my mom an attitude because she said Yes she is engaged. Cause I look young and she was probably thinking what the hell is this mother lettig her daughter get married so young. Then they asked if I was going to register and I said NO way in Hell because I was treated rudely not only that firs time but this time as well...
Sorry this happened again to you Kerri. And I say screw those who treated you like that. They are the trashy people who have no class and no respect or consideration for others feelings or for others lifestyles. Just because you look different (and not in a bad way at all) then the people working there doesnt mean you arent a nice caring person who deserves to be treated with respect and as a potential buyer of a product there!!!

The Coach store did this to one of my cousins once.. What did she do? She asked to see the most expensive bag.. and then bought it! I told her she was an idiot lol. She thought 'she showed them'. I told her showing them would be buying the most expensive prada bag.

Oh, the management seemed genuine. They gave us a gift card... which was nice, but it was for $25. Which won't buy much at that store LoL. It was a nice gesture... but... I dunno.
The jewelry department manager wanted to help us right then and there with the rings and what not, but i was fuming and just wanted to head to Happy Hour lol. She gave me her phone number and her name and told me to call the next time we are going to the store and she will personally assist us in that department. She also said that if she is not there b/c she is going to florida for vacation for a few weeks to ask for specific people and she will tell them to expect to hear from us.
I don't feel so bad about myself anymore... now I'm just super pissed at them.
