Ann brought up a really good point. How often do you have to Update the Registry. Is that something that Im risking doing it too far in advance. Does the store give you notice when items are out of stock?

Re: Registry
Hi! I am getting married the day after you and we are not going to register until maybe the summer. With all the bankruptcies and store closings I am afraid to register and then have to do it again at another store.
I heard LNT filed bankruptcy so Im not sure how that is going to affect your registry.
Good luck!!

Re: Registry
We will probably do at least 2 places, maybe 3 - probably Fortunoff's, Crate and Barrel and BBB. The more places you register the easier it is for people to find stuff!
In my experience almost everyone buys things off the registry for the shower and just brings little envelopes to the wedding.

Re: Registry
I havent done the registry yet since i'm debating whether i should have a shower. Reason being is that my FH and I recently bought a house and we had a HUGE housewarming bash last summer and most of the gifts are in a closet (unopened)
IIf i decide to do it, then I'm going to Macy's or Fortunoff but not doing that till 6-8 mos before the wedding.
don't know what's going to happen to L&T and BBB I love those stores

Re: Registry
We set up a registry at BBB because we are having an e-party in June. We told only people that asked because I don't excpect gifts for the e-party but if they are going to bring something I would like it to be something we want. I chose BBB because I love that store and I get my discount there. I am going to register at macy's too so that people have another option and macy's usually has good sales.

Re: Registry
i'm happy w/ BBB for the most part, so i'd recommend them. i can't say the same for macy's--poor service, inconsistent stock, big fluctuations in prices, and 4 our of 5 things that i got from my registry for christmas this year were not taken off the registry, which would have meant BIG return headaches for me if it were my shower. oh yeah, and returns are a hassle.
my advice is to go w/ bloomie's or fortunoff for your more expensive registry and do the bulk of your stuff @ BBB.

We did bed bath and beyond. But, I really wanted to do macys or fortunoff... only for security with all those places closing down! My mom said she is going to put the registry cards in the bridal shower invites..since fh and I really dont need much :(

Re: Registry
We choose Fortunoff & BBB because Fortunoff's has everything especially the big stuff! But the little things we wanted we found more of a selection in BBB. You have to register & with teh bridal shower & the amoutn of fam i have im sure i will probably get most of it at the shower! HAVE FUN & GOODLUCK! FH was having a blast zapping stuff. It was hysterical!

Re: Registry
We just finished registering at bbb and macy's. We started first with Macy's at 34th street b/c they have a HUGE selection. It was also great service but we were exhausted since everything's on different floors. Then we went to bbb and found that most of the stuff at macy's that we registered for were at bbb. We really wanted money as well but found that ppl like to buy things instead of giving cash. The best part about bbb is that you receive cash back if you return anything on your registry. Oh also, bbb always has coupons and our guests seem to like that. HTH.

Re: Registry
Fortunoff is fine now, they were bought out by Lord & Taylor, they are not closing so there is no prob in doing your registry there.
I was thinking of either doing Fortunoff or Macy's, not sure which one yet and also Crate and Barrel.
