I <3 Becki. Even though I don't think she's a jerk, I want to be a jerk with her.

On a serious note..

If it meant crashing on an island and possibly boinking Josh Holloway - I'd fly flight 815 too.

Oh baby.

Now... to add this whisk or a Dyson to my registry. Hmm.

ETA: hotness.

Re: Registry Vent

i dont know if i missed it but did u have your shower?

maybe its a gift for that..or we got a few gifts like that from peope who said no..

yes i wanted everyone to come and have a great time..and thats the point of the day..but did it frost my cookies when people came with out a gift or a small one..yea kinda

see this is my take...i know times r tough and i would have had more respect if the peope who no gifted came up to me and said sorry guys we r knda broke etc etc..instead of ooh i forgot..its in my car..which we r still getting almost 8 months after th wedding

and i also like to add the people who didnt give a gift were the ones..that drank the night away, took home extra favors and lived in our photobooth

but it happens..it happens at every wedding and we invite people cause we love them and sometimes we dont get a gift

there is nothing u can do so i say et it slide off ur shoulders cause u will have a great wedding ether way

hope u feel better

I registered for like 3 sets of chip clips.

I apparently plan to get fat again after marriage.

You know when I was going through BBB -- and registering -- the girl kept pressuring us to register for all these little items. . .

I only did it so that after the wedding I could use my 20% and get their wedding bonus 20% off on some small things for the house -- but I didn't really want them as gifts.

These people aren't from the NYC/LI area and if they are giving you a $40 item from your registry as a wedding gift, then it may just be because that's what people do in wherever they are from. Weddings in other states are very different from what I've seen myself and heard. Who knows..they may even think that $40 is covering their meal.

Am I the only one that finds this thread so wrong?

You are getting married to the love of your life and that is all that matters! HOWEVER, we ALL decided to have a big party and all the wedding perks that come along with it and u shuld know not to expect money from every1.

Be lucky that they will even show up on your wedding day b/c frankly u lose out both ways..if they dont show up, u already lost on their plate $.
So **** it and move on!

that's your opinion- i dont agree. If that was the case everyone should get married in city hall to the 'love of their life' and call it a day. The monetary gift (or any gift for that matter) is tradition for attending just as wearing a white dress is tradition.

the monetary gift is not a tradition in my culture.

i agree it's strange to complain that something was bought off of your registry....i mean, why register for it if you didn't want it bought? was it just so that you could then complain that someone had bought it? because otherwise i see no reason to put it there.

on the other hand, i also understand being upset that people bought cheap sh!t. i just got my wedding present from my aunt and uncle, who are very well off and live on riverside dr. .....a cookbook. not that i AT ALL want people to pay their way, but that was just a little insulting. PLUS that aunt and her daughter came to my shower and were the only ones who didn't give a present.

I have to be honest - it does upset me when certain people give small gifts. Someone I am not very close to or is just a work colleague - I dont care. But when a good friend or someone you have know a long time gives you a $20-30 gift - it hurts my feelings. I just got a $25 gift in the mail today from a girl who i spent lots of money on her wedding, shower and then baby shower. And it does hurt my feelings a little.

I don't see why I should have to get married in city hall because I don't feel that people NEED to give me presents. First of all, both FH and I are religious so we want to have a ceremony that reflects that. SECOND of all, we wanted to have a party NOT because we wanted presents and money, but because we want to celebrate the happiest day of our lives with the people who matter to us the most.

The gifts are perks, NOT a requirement, and to b!tch that someone didn't give you enough is just plain bratty, spoiled, selfish and missing the point entirely.

I am just gonna add my 2 cents in here.

If you didnt want these items and thought they were cheap why did you register for them???????
